Today Valve released an update for Portal 2 on their Steam platform. Now, don't get too excited, the update is a minor one at best. To sum things up, the only reasons you could be excited over this release are if you've encountered some specific or rare bugs, you had install problems, or you think the game hasn't been loading quite fast enough. Check out the full list of improvements below, and hopefully next time it'll include something more useful... like a beanie?

FuRyu revealed on Friday its Exstetra fantasy role-playing game is getting an HD remaster that will launch this summer on Steam.

Valve is reportedly updating its Steam platform to include a native 30-day price history feature on game store pages.
Although I really like this game, I really really dislike the excessive praise that Portal gets. It's only because it's a Valve game. But it just doesn't rank up there with the other Valve giants like HL or Counter Strike. Portal is no doubt a great title, but for me it just doesn't have that addictive quality that we all normally associate with spectactular games. It's a casual experience really.
I'm toward the end of the game and I just want it to be over and see the ending. This sentiment is the opposite of a truly "great" game were the sentiment is normally "I don't want this to end".
I think what may be ruining the game for me is the awkward pacing of the narrative. I'm not going to go into spoilers, but I feel that Portal, like other "faux-great games" like Bioshock, rely a litle too much on exposition of the story and backstory. But they get away with it through "witty dialogue" or because the characters speak in cute accents. Do gamers really like characters babbling on about the story, or would they rather, like me, prefer to see the story unfold visually in front of them? I think both Bioshock and Portal use this cheap method of providing story without having to work too much. Even Kojima is guilty of this, but he balances it out with amazing cut-scenes and gameplay.
This is my first Valve game, and it was good at the start (single player) but eventually, I felt it was repetitive. Test this, test that, OOOH and test this! Co-op is REALLY fun though. Good laughs all the time!
