Michael Phelps Screenshots Wade In

Call me crazy, but I’m quite looking forward to seeing exactly how 505 Games are going to translate swimming to Kinect. Since announcing the game a month or two ago, the company have been somewhat quiet, but have today released a series of screenshots and motion-capture photographs so that potential buyers can keep their eyes on the prize.

What's next, Kinect walking simulation?

ElementX5502d ago

Wii has one called Walk it Out

Ddouble5502d ago (Edited 5502d ago )

Has anyone else had a good idea as to how this would work? It seems stupid everyway i try to think of it working.

SaveFerris5502d ago

Maybe it would involve leaning forward slightly at the waist, and then using your arms to mimic the strokes?

Not sure how they would get the player to simulate the start when the swimmer dives in?

Anyone else?

Projekt7tuning5502d ago

New worst game of the year. See what happens when you smoke too much weed Michael Phelps, You end up being the poster boy for what looks like the worst game of the year.
Whats next, virtual cutting with Emo girl?

Focker4205502d ago

Ummmmm.... facepalm??

I'm dumbfounded at how stupid this is. You want a swimming simulator? Jump in a pool.

Projekt7tuning5502d ago

But then you might get wet......

Do you have to wait 45min after eating to play this?

How do you know which side of the living room is the deep end lol?

American Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Phelps Is Hooked On Words With Friends

As US swimmer Michael Phelps prepares to add to his record 14 gold medals at the London 2012 Summer Games, the athlete isn’t likely to take much of a break from one of his favorite pastimes – gaming. Phelps, who can become the most-awarded Olympian in history by the end of this Olympics, loves to play all kinds of video games. But one of his favorites is Zynga’s Words With Friends. He’ll have as many as 30 games going on at once. Phelps talks all about his love of games in the videos below.

Stop the presses, i think im starting to care....nevermind.

TheLyonKing5051d ago

he isn't that good anyway, some science show showed that you don't need different types of muscle groups to swim different strokes as long as you are the shape of a swimmer and have the endurance and strength and professional can do any stroke.

Decathletes are the true athletes only one medal and they do 10 different events which test endurance, strength and speed.

Back to the main topic, this dope smoking swimmer can be hooked on what ever he wants doesn't affect me or the gaming industry.

Swiggins5051d ago

Yeah...he isn't that good...he only has more gold medals than any other Olympic Athlete...ever....

If it were as easy as you think it is, every slim person in the world would be a world class swimmer...no...no no no, it takes years of practice and hard work to do even half of the things these guys do...

And who cares if he smoked weed, what harm did it do? Would he have won maybe 10 extra gold medals if he didn't? Not likely....

And yes Decatheletes are impressive....but let's get real here, Michael Phelps swims like a damn fish, he currently holds the water speed record in at least 7 events, that's pretty god damn impressive...

Conan O'Brien takes on game reviews with new 44 star scoring system

XMNR: Conan O'Brien released his first video game review on Wednesday night and it was for Michael Phelps: Push the Limit which uses Kinect on Xbox 360. Conan introduced a brand new review scoring system that completely makes sense and discovers that Push the Limit is probably sexist.

The video doesn't work in my country. Could you find a different one? I'm not reporting it but it would be great to have an alternate source.

chrispen95081d ago

It's Canada. American networks do not allow viewership from foreign countries, eh?

Trebius515081d ago

Lol@Conan

"You look SO stupid ..."

Brash_Attack5081d ago

I don't think Conan could have looked less interested in doing this if he tried.

xAlmostPro5081d ago

I think that's the point, no?

Brash_Attack5081d ago

Possibly. It's just weird seeing him so mellow and unenthusiastic compared to how peppy he is when on air.

Christopher5081d ago (Edited 5081d ago )

I'm thinking there's some Microsoft advertising going on here. It seems so forced and not natural. Otherwise, I don't get why they pushed the Lumia on us at the beginning (yeah, it says AT&T, but then why make a video game bit that he's just not interested in doing?).

File under comedically bad advertising is good advertising?

He knows nothing about video games...and yet he looks like less of a tool playing them than Jimmy Fallon?

Interesting...
