PSFocus - Review Operation Flashpoint: Red River

PSFocus writes: After years of absence a new installment arrived in the Operation Flashpoint franchise. This was Dragon Rising, which appeared in 2010. This game took place on the island of Skira where you had to compete against the Chinese army. The new game, which appeared one year later, you end up facing a totally different enemy. You'll have to hunt terrorists in Tajikistan. Is Red River better than Dragon Rising? Find out in our review.

The game is good, but the Friendly AI is not so great sometimes.

I agree with that. Though the A.I isnt nearly as poor as it was in Dragon Rising or the first Mass Effect.

Its about on par with Mass Effect 2. Sometimes your squad mates do silly things, but most of the time they pretty much just look after themselves. And they are quite useful unlike Gears of War. Those guys may as well not even be there. lol.

Some mediocre - crap games there. Couldn't even include any Codemasters racing games? It's the only thing they're good at.

Canadiangamernet4313d ago

Including the Dirt series in the bundle would have been awesome but i wouldn't say they are crappy games. I liked Overlord 1 & 2 and both Operation Flashpoint are decent FPS the other one are so so for me.

guitarded774313d ago

Like I said... crappy to mediocre. I liked Overlord too. Didn't care for Operation Flashpoint. But eve liking Overlord, I have no illusions that it isn't a mediocre game.

Even though it's still technically a good deal, the whole $5 or £4 thing annoys me. Humble bundle doesn't do this. No thanks.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River - The Shooter That Could Have Been The Greatest

Mobile & Apps: "One of the most underrated shooters of the previous generation was Operating Flashpoint: Red River for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. With all its problems, I believe this is a game that is worth playing, however, it is not too hard to see why the game didn't quite kick off, as it should have."

I liked it, didn't quite finish it though. Maybe I will now.

Loved this game, it was dumbed down from Dragon Rising but still an enjoyable game. Was still offputting to people looking for instant/non stop action

Ha! Some colleagues and I are actually planning on hitting this one up tonight. Great game.
