We can only hope that the developers of Grand Theft Auto IV are taking careful notes on Saints Row, the next generation of the "open world"-style games popularized by Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas. At first glance, Saints Row looks like little more than an Xbox 360-fortified version of San Andreas: from the mission design to the basic play mechanics to the tongue-in-cheek spirit, it's abundantly clear that Saints Row is firmly grounded in Rockstar Games' groundbreaking series.

Original Saints Row design director Chris Stockman has declared the Saints Row franchise is "dead".
I just started this game last night, just the player creation had me upset. You choose male but they stand like a female. Eyebrows are all effeminate, face, and verything seems to be modeled after a female with a thin male overlay.
I only played the opening and didn’t even complete that before I turned the game off. I will likely go back and try it again, but a very weird first impression.
The franchise has been complete utter garbage for almost 20 years. The first one was the only decent game of the lot of them.

Somehow, Saints Row returned. Well, kind of. In a giddy post on the Saints Row subreddit, a lead on the original game in the Saints Row series announced that someone, somewhere might be interested in firing up Volition's (RIP) open-world crime games once more.
Please not made in fortnite graphics by whiny petty developers who argue on twitter this time
My problem is I’ve played all of them but probably collectively an hour a piece for each. Never really got into them and always got them on discount. I wonder if that’s just the general consensus on this game. Because doesn’t feel like any of them are really worth it
Get rid of the regenerating health, or only have a certain food type that regenerates health a bit. Regenerating health + food seems a bit much but just IMO.. I always found that a bit stupid.

The wait for GTA 6 is painful, but for less than $6 you can pass the time with the overhated Saints Row reboot on your Steam Deck right now.
This was free on something at some point, so I decided to check it out. It's definitely properly rated.
Damn that's a real nice review!
I am really curious what GTA4 will do against all this power. It can only get stimulated to go even further. And it's there from day one in 2007 with downloadable content afterwards.
It's great news, if you want the most sleaziest game this time around you'll get Saints Row. In no other GTA game there is so much blood, violence, sex, bad things to do. Mature game, but it needs to be here. Just like Dead Rising. And I hope all moral stupid arguïng -for example in governments- stop. Parents are there to make sure their childeren don't buy it/play it. Just like with violence on TV/street, porn on TV or in videostores and hookers on the street.
Think I'm going to beat up some government members in the Saints Row demo now ;)
Because it was made for the PS2. Power limitations hurt GTA. GTA never had online. They had several chances to include it. SR had to include it to set it self apart. With Saints Row we might be saying GTA needs to step it up.
