Wow! This looks quite a bit better than I had expected.

Definitely interested now.

InLaLaLand5418d ago (Edited 5418d ago )

The team behind the Yakuza series are making this along with a western dev (not sure who). Nagoshi (producer of the Super Monkey Ball series and F Zero GX) can bring good stories into games, he is very passionate about storytelling.

Simon_Brezhnev5418d ago

Hell if the team behind Yakuza series is making this the story is going to be great. I usually hate fighting robots but i'll make this an exception.

Solid_Malone5418d ago

whow, looks awesome, kinda reminds me of vanquish in a way, but this looks better.

InLaLaLand5418d ago (Edited 5418d ago )

I thought the first trailer for this game was generic crap until the ending. This trailer is promising. As a fan of the Ryu Ga Gotoku/Yakuza series Nagoshi can make good storytelling.

Cloudberry5418d ago

.
I'm interested in this game because it was made by Yakuza series developer.

InLaLaLand5418d ago

Yep pretty much the same.

Cloudberry5418d ago

.
Obviously, the same team who brought the Yakuza game series to PlayStation.

It seems, the game would be a Third Person Shooter thank GOD; with aspects of that similar with other TPS genre games (Gears Of War, Resident Evil, Vanquish even, etc).

The in-game graphics are also good.

+

I have no doubt about the Yakuza team's presentation in storyline as I love the storyline & scenes in Yakuza games.

However, here's hoping it would be a good game nonetheless.

InLaLaLand5418d ago (Edited 5418d ago )

If the game doesn't have the similar shooting mechanics as Of The End (camera angle and aiming issues) then we will have a good game. The story will be good.

Edit: @Cloudberry, yeah that's probably true about experience in shooters, I heard they (Sega) brought a western developer to help. I wish the PSP Yakuza game comes too (I have Kenzan) I need my Yakuza fix on the PSP :D

Cloudberry5418d ago

.
I assume that Yakuza of The End was kind of their first experiment with shooter games.

Then they polished it with this game.

PS: hopefully Yakuza of The End would come in English too.

Simon_Brezhnev5418d ago

lol same Hell i rather have Yakuza 5 come out instead of Of The End.

MidnytRain5418d ago

This reminded me of iRobot. This looks cool, though; we need more co-op campaign games, and this looks like the perfect game to do it in.

What an original idea and setup.

Actually great list TBH I agree with all 10

I hope one day we get some remakes for the following

The saboteur(with a proper remake and quality of life features this game could be great)
Scarface world is yours
Binary domain ( such a great game with great story)
GUN(this needs a remake)
Space marine 40k(such fun time)

Would also like to suggest adding the mercenary series even the 2nd game which is disliked by many is a fun time

cthulhucultist1032d ago

I recently finished Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine and found it to be very enjoyable.

The game respected the lore and the gameplay was quite decent.

The color palette was a bit underwhelming (backdrops and setting) and recycled but I think that it deserved better.

Here's hoping for an amazing sequel

Space Marine II !! My most anticipated game of 2023! Woot

pretty solid third person shooter played from start to finish, also there is another great third person shooter game from that time and very unique called Inversion.

porkChop1084d ago

Inversion was cool. It was made by the same team behind TimeShift, another really cool but flawed shooter.

HeliosHex1084d ago

Yeah this was a good game despite poor reviews.

Hofstaderman1084d ago

I still have my copy. It’s a brilliant game despite the reviews.

Cyberpunk Backlog: Binary Domain - A Masterpiece by SEGA

Developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the makers of the Yakuza games, Binary Domain is an extremely underrated cyberpunk third-person shooter. Directed by Toshihiro Nagoshi, the mastermind behind the famous Yakuza series, the game is quite different from his previous works. Nagoshi stated that he wanted to explore the themes of life, more specifically through the use of robots. It’s a cyberpunk-themed game, and the game has interesting views on technology, robots and how society would behave in such a world. There are numerous references to other cyberpunk works and fans of the genre will be pleasantly surprised.

I would love a sequel or remake of this game. Such a fun romp

JayRyu2170d ago

^Agreed

This was such an underrated game. I liked the story and some of the action scenes were really good.

Gamehard2170d ago

I've always wanted to play this game. Huge fan of Vanquish and a few of my friends have always recommended trying this, too. I think I even have it on steam and PS3 but just never made time :( The backlog struggle is real.

DerfDerf2170d ago

This game was awesome. So satisfying the way the robots broke into pieces.

SovereignSnaKe2170d ago (Edited 2170d ago )

I'm looking at my copy right now. I got rid of a bunch of 360 games years ago but I just couldn't part with this one. It was really something special. I've recommended it to several people over the years and almost all of them have never even heard of it.
