Calm down mate. Where the hell did Baka-akaB mention he wanted 2D gameplay. He was just commenting on the graphics.

I also want 3D Sonic gameplay however what I see in Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Colours isn't the same style as Sonic Adventures as in Unleashed+ the player just keeps dashing forwards with not much platforming involved except when it switches from 3D to 2D.

I never requested sonic to be either 2d or 3d . Nor claimed to be a fan by the way . Go take your idiotic beef with someone else

I "require" from modern 2d games however to strive for better than preying on nostalgia .

Especially when smaller outlets release awesome looking 2d games like Oboro muramasa or Blazblue and when there are great 2.5d looking games too .

Too often lately some publishers took going retro as an excuse for lazy rehashes , when you can do a very modern looking games with retro artstyle . It is after just a design and art style , and should no longer be a technical excuse , without the limitation of the past .

So AGAIN "finally they understand" ... the game looks beautiful instead of just looking "retro" .

I don't think mania was to short given 1,2,3, knuckles were between 1 and 3 hours long.

Mania was 5 hours roughly

However i say the originals feel more repayable because they are so short

Nope. Sonic 1 & 2 on the master system were great. Dont confuse these with the game gear versions either.
