Sony Helping Devs Affected by PSN Outage

PSN games released last week will get extended promotional support.

skynidas5526d ago

Well, I think that's fair for the developers

ATiElite5526d ago

Oh my god!
we're all gonna die if PSN doesn't get back up.

Sorry had to do it.

negroguy5526d ago

I want PSN back up like anyone else but im looking forward to the real reason it was taken down after this has blown over.

interrergator5526d ago

well thank fuck we can still play our single player games imagine if we couldnt right bro? :)

Rumor has it that hackers discovered a way to make their PS3 running CFW look like it is debug unit, allowing free access to everything on the PS Store. That, to me, explains why they had to take PSN down. You can't keep it up if hundreds of people are stealing call the content they can download. I haven't heard any other alternative theories.

I doubt Sony will ever give us an official explanation. It does them no good to highlight the problem when so many people out there would just try to take advantage of it.

Do devs pay for these promotions?

I expect this to screw things up for scheduling. What's going to happen to this week's games?

n4gisatroll5526d ago

Hey dex,

I'm not sure but I'm hoping they just release all the content in one week to catch up with everything. I'm sure everyone will whine and birch because in order to do that it will be a later update, like 7-9 pm pst.

and here gamers are crying over the PSN. When other companies have much time and money invested. Gamer's issue's seem so small when it comes to real world concerns. Good for Sony for doing the right thing by the dev's. But, that's not surprising.

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle44d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
