Tonight's topic revolves around the heavily debated Project Café that is apparently boiling somewhere deep down in Nintendo's horror wonder land. The implications of this for the gaming industry are gargantuan.
As with every new and exciting platform however, there are some people that ruin it for everyone else. Sometimes it's kids with headsets, sometimes it's the manufacturer, but most of the times it's the developers. Those lovely people that actually make the games you play. In a perfect world there would be no bad developers, no lazy script writers and all the games would be masterpieces in every single aspect - gameplay, story, graphics, soundtrack, disc aerodynamics etc. However, we do not live in a perfect world (yet) so the cruel, hard fact is that most developers are drooling mouth breathers that can't tell their shoe from a C# compiler.

The rejection is non-final (and even when such rejections are labeled as “final”, the process is far from over, given that there can be, at minimum, an appeal to the Federal Circuit).
Good, as they should! A game mechanic like that shouldn't be locked behind a patent, and Nintendo didn't invent it either.
Nintendo wants to keep wasting money on bullshit lawsuits, real smart in this economy. They should put that money aside for other game projects. On the other hand, I don't care if they waste it all either, and they are screwed in the future maybe that will teach them a lesson.

Jason Dietz: "We reveal the past year's best and worst video game publishers (based on their 2025 releases) in the 16th edition of our annual Game Publisher Rankings."
But... but... the garbage-mongers always tell us that Square Enix is in trouble! 😂

Nintendo completed its share repurchase and set its secondary offering price at 8,347 yen ahead of March 16 delivery.
1st one sure, after that the rest of this article is just stupid. RockStar doesn't make violent games just to make violent games, ever hear of a thing called Satire?
hes so false on square. ff 13 was a 85 percent game. 13-2 and versus will be great. There portable work is stellar.
dq X on the wii could be the best rpg of the year.
this article is completely stupid!
my god, let me memorize the name of this site, i will never read another article of it!
Article is stupid, author is clueless.
SK did drop the ball with Too Human, still doesn't mean they would be unable to deliver an awesome sequel to Eternal Darkness or any new IP.
Rockstar is a great developer and they make great games, some are violent, some are not, but most are very fun and worth having on your system if you're a console maker.
SquareEnix might have made bad games in recent times, but they also make some pretty good ones too. Remember they now own the Hitman franchise, who doesn't want to have the next Hitman on their platform?
And finally, Retro Studio, one of the best studio making exclusive games for Nintendo, having them go independant makes about as much sense as if Microsoft had told Bungie to go independant. Developers don't magically make better games when they're let go from their exclusivity contracts.
Basically, if Nintendo were not to allow these developers/publishers to work on Project Cafe, they would be asking for their platform to fail.
