#OpSony is Over

So, Project NaTL just joined the IRC for #OpSony, and saw the topic set to:

[#OpSony is over, if you are here to baww about PSN, it wasn't us.]

So, it looks like #OpSony has ended. No more attacks from Anonymous and no more problems for SONY(?) Good news for SONY. We (Project NaTL) guess Anonymous still did good. Oh and Anonymous didn't do the attacks that have recently caused outage on PSN, if you didn't know. They were planning to after it came back up, but now they won't. This is because, once again, #OpSony has ended.

FACT!

Hackers are idiots!!!

ProjectNaTL5499d ago

They had a good point, but then a bad action.

Shadow Flare5499d ago (Edited 5499d ago )

They had a point that no one gave a crap about, annoyed loads of people to fight for their point that no one gave a crap about, and put 1 fat nerd in a Sony centre as their boycott, while another one of the anon nerds who was supposed to be boycotting Sony ended up buying a Bravia TV

They suck

http://www.youtube.com/watc...

I_find_it_funny5499d ago (Edited 5499d ago )

this whole thing is ridiculous

norman295499d ago

So now that this has 'supposedly' ended, lets see what came out of all this....*does some quick calculations*....nothing, well done anonymous keep up the good work.....cocks.

Electroshocked5499d ago

@ Shadow Flare That video was hilarious, bubble for being funny for you.

nveenio5499d ago

They had a good point? You mean to propose that they were justified in being mad that someone was trying to protect their property and the investment of their consumers?

You're nuts.

WhittO5499d ago (Edited 5499d ago )

I actually think it wasn't them, that they want the companies to hate them, not the public, and obviously crave support and want to be liked by them lol.

They underestimated how dedicated fans of gaming consoles are to the companies themselves lol, attacking Sony/MS will only anger fans, even if you don't target the console itself and disrupt service.

I think its more likely to be Geo targeting them with some "friends" or something.

What hackers? All they are doing is DDOS

ProjectNaTL5499d ago

They actually are hackers, look at their history.

Red_Phoenix5499d ago

@ProjectNaTL, why don't you look over their history? All they are known for is DDOS their victims into submission. It is true some of them are very skilled hackers, but that is a tiny handful. Since anon has no centralized leader, anyone may call themselves anon and be doing stuff in the name of anon. I'm no hacker, but yet I can easily say I am part of anon. Most of them are just high school students and some even in elementary. If you do not believe me, stay in their irc channel and you will find out.

Soldierone5499d ago

@ProjectNaTL If you do look at their history you see that their previous big attacks were also just DOS attacks....

Baka-akaB5499d ago (Edited 5499d ago )

you do realize that most probably just use tools ddos focused progs designed by OTHERS ? Probably only a few are genuine hackers ...

Just like death pinging someone doesnt make you some hacker and even less a cracker ...

Zeevious5499d ago (Edited 5499d ago )

Everyone above but "ProjectNaTL" is correct.

They are NOT hackers.

Anyone, and I mean ANYONE can load up any number of scripts to point at some server for a Denial Of Service. (DDOS is a Distributed Denial Of Service)
Here's just one example "Stacheldraht" (Barbed Wire) and detailed description of how the process and use of the tool works:
http://www.sans.org/securit...

There are many other tools for "Script-Kiddies" like this. That's someone with about enough skill to load a premade app built on someone ELSE's work, enter IP's for some server, and click a button.

Morons!

Absolutely Worthless Stupid Skill-less Morons.

As pointed out above ANYONE can claim to be anonymous because it requires no real skill whatsoever.

Example:

Ping XXX.413.XXX.037

and I'll gather your IP address and ping you from a dozen anonymous proxies that if you eventually tracked back to the source would lead to a remotely accessed innocent's master machine, or some WiFi router without a password with Spoofed MAC or any number of other magical attacks that any real hacker could perform with their eyes closed, in their sleep.

It's just the nature of the net, but does not give "Annoyingus" any special skills or abilities.

They are just morons with some crappy "Shaft" "Loic" "Trin00" or other misguided app that needs to be tracked down and reported to their parents to ground them for a month, just like they say in their latest announcement.
http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Annoyingus - The true power of this group of 'hackers' :
http://nerdreactor.com/wp-c...
...and now they've officially given up, because they have as much belief in their convictions and deserve as much respect as someone else we all know, who also promised to fight to the end...of some settlement he agreed to get _ _ _ _ _ _ in the _ _ _ with.

Absolutely a L-O-L experience.

HSx95498d ago (Edited 5498d ago )

@Zeevious
Annon is not "skill-less" they have done some crazy things in the past, Try and DDOS a company without getting traced, good luck I guarantee the FBI will be at your doorstep by 3:00 AM. Also hacking in to a United States Bank is "skill-less" oh my I really didn't know it was that easy to hack into banks, I wonder why nobody else had ever tried it before.
I don't really care for anon, but you shouldn't be criticizing them in such a careless matter, because they have influenced lots of major events in real life by just "DDOSing" and Hacking.
Also that picture was taken before the anon event of 4/16 or whateve the date was. Google the picture and look at the dates they were uploaded on.

Zeevious5498d ago

HSx9

Blah... Blah... B L A HHHHhhhhhh . . .

You can 'Denial of Service' anyone without getting caught, easily...if you have even the slightest skill. You apparently don't since you think you can't! As I said...

THEY ARE MORONS.

Who exactly is Anonymous?
That's the question, because they are so stupid, a totally different group of FOUR people claiming to be Anonymous FAILED MISERABLY by any hacking standard or measure of credibility.

These aren't hackers, they are little babies with "script-kiddie" skills written all over them.

Google what picture? So what you're saying is, they can hack a DOS attack but can't hack an EXIF Tag? Then WHERE are the actual pictures from the "event" ???

LOL...you're cheering for a bunch of losers man.

Look at YOURSELF, you used your hacking skills not to help the worlds problems but to PLAY GAMES?

"First to Hack Borderlands (PS3) First to hack MW2 (PS3) First to hack Modern Combat Domination (PS3)"

Sound familiar?

You're actually bragging about hacking a GAME?

Could that be a more worthless use of whatever "skills" you actually think you have?

You're not helping anyone but overcompensating for your 'shortcomings' because you feel you just don't measure up...and clearly you don't.

I don't care about some stupid GAME HACK...who does, but losers?

"Wow dude...instead of any actual SKILL I hacked a game to make it easy enough for even a worthless 'gamer' like me to be able to play. Yeah I have absolutely no skills whatsoever...that's what I'm saying, so I had to hack a game...just to play it."

THAT is all you are saying. Use your talents for better purposes, instead of wasting them and looking very very sad to me when doing it.

Use your skills to improve the problems in the world, and then come talk to me . . . when you actually matter . . . when you make a difference.

Till then, you can just stay 'Anonymous' and be nothing more than 'Annoyingus'

Kon5499d ago

Nice way to generalize all the hackers chump.

Zeevious5498d ago

If this generalizes hackers as losers still on mommy's _ _ _ in the basement whining about changing the world while microwaving another hot pocket and wishing someday they might actually touch someone of the opposite-or same sex...then THANK ANONYMOUS not anyone here!

Hackers accomplish their goals.

They think their plan through.

They don't give up, as Anonymous did.

They don't get caught -- You never know they where there.

They don't stage PATHETIC boycotts where four members show up.

They don't attack gamers to get at companies.

They don't threaten to have "hundreds waiting" as BS.

They don't show up for a boycott and instead buy a new Bravia TV.

Annoyingus has created the generalization.

Go complain to them for their TOTAL failure on their Sony campaign. As far as their other events...who cares? How do we even know that Anonymous was this Anonymous . . . Because they're A N O N Y M O U S ! ! !

They are lame _ _ _ losers and will never recover from this gross, and utter failure.

What skills?

What group?

What power?

What more than little script-kiddie babies are they?

As far as I or anyone else cares, they can stay Anonymous, because their acts are nothing more than AnnoyingUs.

Trevonn5499d ago

what about mark zuckerberg the creator of facebook he was a hacker

ProjectNaTL5499d ago

Agreed, but if this has stopped, I think we'll be happy for a long time. :)

Tripl3seis5499d ago

yep exactly we as gamers didnt ask for this were fine until mr geo hotz started with his bullshit and poking around the ps3 and then this happens but thank god this is going to end.

news4geeks5499d ago (Edited 5499d ago )

so what the hell is sony doing, picking their bum fluff!?

Ninver5499d ago (Edited 5499d ago )

STFU! no one cares. We just want our network capabilities back for our own enjoyment.

If any Sony employees are looking at these comment, HURRY DA F#CK UP!

edit:

I still recon this was Anons last major attack on Sony before they crawled back into their caves. Well it worked so please bring it back online.

v1c1ous5499d ago

why attack a wounded opponent?

plus they probably realized their fight against sony's behavior was turning public opinion against them.

andy8515d ago

Lets be honest raising prices doesn't do that when no one's buying it. I imagine the profit it greater selling 10 times more at a lower price

Pergele15d ago

Whatever you say buddy, let's all wear the tinfoil hats.

IceKoldKilla15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

LMFAO Your comment alone says a lot more about you than anything else. When has one game not selling 10 million copies made a company raise the prices of their console? Then Xbox would be costing $5000 by now lol. You remind of the crazy drug addicts on the street rambling on about conspiracies. xD You sure you don't need a hug, buddy?

ChunkyMonk14d ago

One game that Sony payed $200 million for. lol
Also, you sure were quick to get triggered. Maybe your the one who needs a hug?

Eonjay14d ago

If nothing else, we should be united against the real issue here. AI and unnecessary tariffs that are effecting all gamers.

Athlon10115d ago (Edited 15d ago )

The price increases are due to the RAM demand associated with AI and the US-Iran war. You can look to any business news website and local news to see that. Heck, even the 2026 Asus Zenbook Duo I've been eyeing has faced delays and has had a price increase of $400; that laptop has two specs. Asus is doing a staggered release with per-orders for the lower spec now and shipping in May and pre-orders for the higher spec that I'm eyeing starting in June. Basically, all computer manufactures are affected. It'll most likely start affecting smart phones too if it hasn't already. I can't remember the last time any major console maker (Nintendo, Sony, Sega, etc) increased the price of their console mid cycle outside of Microsoft just to make more profit.

S2Killinit14d ago

Its not the war. Its the RAM issue.

jznrpg14d ago

War is causing gas prices to rise. Transport of everything requires gas so the prices of those items go up as well. So it does have an impact

Athlon10114d ago (Edited 14d ago )

The blockage of the Straight of Hormuz due to the US-Iran war has affected raw components used in semi-conductor manufacturing such as bromine, aluminum, and helium. Iran had attacked the liquified natural gas (LNG) plant in Qatar which is a large producer (1/3 globally) of helium which is used in semiconductor etching. So it's the both the war and the RAM crises.

badz14915d ago

Oh no...should I get the Pro now before the price increase?

I dont think that'll ever happen. But i must say back in the day, they were definitely trying because they were more cash rich than their competitors.

CosmicTurtle28d ago

I think MS were and still are the richer company. They tried to acquire Sega back in the day (and considered doing so again more recently), they obviously bought exclusivity to Halo which was originally shown as a Mac title. I don’t think as a company MS can claim the moral high ground here. It’s a wilful lack of self awareness.

Of course Sony would try exactly the same if they had the resources, but when the PS2 dominated the industry was in a much healthier place with an abundance of great third parties.

This has been a depressing generation as far as first party decisions are concerned. The fact we are debating business plans rather than which game is better is a sad reflection of the state of things.

Darkseeker28d ago (Edited 28d ago )

There was Nintendo as well, Sony wouldn't have had a monopoly. In fact, the world would be better today if Xbox never existed in the first place. They pretty much brought all bad practices we have today. We might have gotten all of it either way, but not this early. In term of franchises, I don't think there is anything Microsoft released that would actually be missed if it didn't exist. Even Halo the world wouldn't notice if Halo didn't exist.

S2Killinit28d ago

MS was definitely a bad influence on gaming.

raWfodog28d ago

I think almost everyone will agree that a monopoly is not good for the industry. But that being said, the competition needs to be smart and strategic with their business. Simply buying up publishers and traditional third-party studios just to keep them out of the other companies reach is not a sustainable practice. That goes for all parties so don't think I'm just referring to Xbox.

I'm no business guru by any stretch of the imagination but I firmly believe that the best way to drive consumers to your software and hardware is to invest smart in your first-party studios. Give them full support and guidance in making unique, fun games that are only available to play in your ecosystem and the gamers will come.

Reaper22_28d ago (Edited 28d ago )

But first party studios aren't enough. They only make up a small portion of the industry. Without 3rd party there would be no industry for Microsoft or sony.Developing games take time and money and sometimes you gotta make moves to stay competitive.

raWfodog28d ago

Nah, I never said first-party was enough. I said it’s the ‘best way’ to drive gamers to your platform. 3rd-party is a free-for-all and there’s no guarantee that gamers will use your hardware to play the game. If you want to push your own software and/or hardware you need first-party, or at least exclusive deals with third-party studios.

SimpleDad28d ago

They Shure did a great job... 25 years later Xbox is dead.

Reaper22_28d ago

Then why be so emotional and continue to talk about it. Xbox will never die be ause it stays in so many people's head.

lodossrage28d ago

How can you even see him being "emotional" in that comment?

If anything, you're the emotional one, constantly trying to go at anyone that says anything against Microsoft. So when you call him emotional, it comes off as deflection

Elda28d ago

I own an XBSX & I can say it's becoming irrelevant out of the 3 current consoles.
