This sucks badly although im in love with cooperative games lately. Also to add, better there is no Deathmatch modes, then to have it as sucky as in Doom 3 they are.

christheredhead5503d ago

yah its kind of a good thing i think. im getting tired of running around shooting people over and over. co op and objective based games are fun but deathmatch style setup is kind of tedious to me.

SpLinT5502d ago

Only because every FPS these days is GENERIC. This game was FAR from generic with unique weapons ...

2fk5503d ago

Sounds meh....was hoping for a new fps multiplayer getting tired of sequals only being good Fps multiplayers

mastiffchild5502d ago

Why? There have been TONS of shooters that aped the COD/Halo/BF axis of TDM/DM/CTF over recent times yet nobody seems to break into that small club of titles who survive with a healthy population on THOSE trad modes. I'd much rather a dev like iD with their creative record go a different way and you don't yet know if the Vs in cars will be amazing and the co-op stages mindblowing. Personally, I think they would have been best sodding off MP entirely as the SP looks amazing and any more cash to keep it that way is welcome in my book-there's already DM if you want it everywhere else. Don't knock them for being sensible and leaving the oldschool modes to those series where the fans already are.

OhMyGandhi5502d ago

thing is though: don't you think they are taking an unnecessary risk in leaving out the classic deathmatch modes? sure, I DO agree that it CAN get old to run around killing people, but I still would like the OPTION to play deathmatch every now and then.

To me, it doesn't make sense.
I would like ID to reclaim their DM throne once and again, and show other dev's "how it's done" there sit there wishing for something that's not only appreciated and fitting for a FPS, but also expected.

Oh well, game still looks sweet, and I am loving the racing and such.

Part of the reason why I still play Halo is because that series has the ABILITY to drive around and shoot/run people over. I would like to see that become near standard in future MP FPS's.

Bullshido5502d ago

True that, btw those wacky races could be fun ;)

what are they doing......they literally invented deathmatch but they won't even include it in there new IP. They got some splanin' to do. Now there are gonna be more people then ever saying it's just a car combat game

DigitalRaptor5502d ago

It's not a multiplayer-focused game.

That should be clear by now.

Killustrious5502d ago

Ummm...why do this? If you want a real vehicular combat game...buy Twisted Metal on October 4th. This is probably the dumbest thing they could do, IMO.

I hope the devs can break away from MS and take their IP's with them in the not to distant future. This entire consolidation and mass industry firings that MS has spearheaded has been nothing but a disaster for everyone except the already rich creatively bankrupt tw@ts at Microsoft.

MS is nothing but a drain on the entire gaming industry and every facet of it.

1Victor149d ago

There is precedent already with bungie separating from Microsoft but I doubt Microsoft will let them go out with their IP’s without paying a huge price

Good for them. From what I hear Microsoft supports it but unfortunately it still doesnt change much but its a step in the right direction. More devs across the entire industry should do this. But regardless, you just love to hate anything Microsoft or xbox. Who's fault is it that sony closed down studios? Who spearheaded that? What i don't understand is that if you hate Microsoft so much why the concern. If this bothers you so much you may want to find another hobby. Free up some of that mental energy for your own well being and stop worrying about shit you cant change.

@FlaggerD care to look at yourself in the mirror, obscure? It's like your 132456th account now, and all of them have you being obsessed with Sony. You just can't handle the fact they literally stomped on Xbox, LMAO! Juggernaut my ass haha. Xbots claiming Expedition 33 winning GotY is a win for Xbox because it was on Game pass is the funniest shit ever LMAO!

Good for them. With AI coming for their jobs and their new corporate overlords working overtime to replace them, it’s a smart move.

Notellin149d ago

It won't be long before Microsoft lays off everyone in gaming and routes that money over into AI.

Time for everyone at Xbox to update the resume and start coming up with Indie game pitches.

The point of unionizing is collective bargaining. Sadly, I do not believe they have any leverage, which is likely why Microsoft isn't impeding them: The investment in AI is gargantuan. We're talking about a data center in Wisconsin that's about 200 city blocks. That is massive and insane.
