Sarcastic Gamer takes a step back from the 3DS hype and concludes that it is highly unlikely that you will ever need a 3DS or use it to it's fullest extent.
From the article: "I picked up the original DS at launch. I had incredibly high hopes for a console that had such a unique selling point. This was a game system that you could interact with by touching. The DS seemed to have some revolutionary properties with amazing potential. Sure, the launch games were either a re-hash of an existing product or a poorly executed, but we’re used to that. Developers needed time to get their act together, to implement the control scheme into the gameplay.
This never happened.
This isn’t a hippy-cosmic “material possessions don’t make you truly happy” kind of statement. I literally mean you don’t need a 3DS; plus, I’m happy to tell you exactly why."

This image basically confirms that in Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon we will be seeing an alternate story. While it has been stated by Nintendo multiple times that this was the case, they were never really clear on it.
Why in fucks name did the designs for the mc make it through the planing stages of development? They are by far the worse thing pokemon have produced.

Hey! Pikmin is brand new adventure set on the Nintendo 3DS as Captain Olimar's ship crash lands on a mysterious alien planet.
Every time I see 'released on Steam' my heart sinks. Why don't these guys release on GOG instead?

Beware Space Pirates. Beware Metroids. Samus Aran is back and she is locked & loaded.
i know better what i want
I don't evaluate systems when I want a new gaming system, I evaluate games. In that sense, he's right. I don't need any of the 3DS games that are out.
Maybe in a year or so, I will want some of them. But not now.
so true....
I bought a 3DS because i've never owned a DS. I don't have any interest in the launch games but there are alot of great looking games coming out this year. Right now im catching up on DS games and having a great time doing so.
I'll be the judge on what I need.
