Mortal Kombat Perfect For Easter

NextGN: "The thing I love most about the latest Mortal Kombat is that it truly brings you back to the golden days of gaming. Mortal Kombat is the ultimate fighting game, and, as strange and messed up as this might sound, is the perfect game to play throughout Easter; because, in a sense, this game is a lot like gigantic Easter Egg; it's tasty and, if you break through the shell, there is an abundance of hidden and unlock-able extras content in the game. It will make you feel like a kid again!"

Yeah.. it's a huge chocolate easter egg filled with gallons of blood.

eww.. >.<

FudgeBear5559d ago

That actually sounds quite awesome... haha! Can't wait. I seriously can't wait! I am going to buy a huge ass easter egg, and invite my mates over and spend the entire night playing this game... like the old days. Already had crap load of fun with the demo.

NOSTALGIA!

One thing i'm mostly disappointed in is that they added how to do fatalities that was the best part in the olden days seeing if you could pull a fatality off with out seeing how it's done.

SodoBot5559d ago

You are so right!

I remember trying all different button combinations to find a fatality, and when you found one you felt like you struck oil.

You'd rush online and post the button combination for that fatality and people would be all like "awweeeesooome".

I remember once there was a rumor that you could play as Michael Jackson in MKII. Found a cheat code for it and tried a whole day to get it to work... then I realized it was just a joke. :P

Dart895559d ago

You just made my day man bub+.I remeber reading about that also xDD.

godmoney5559d ago

The Mortal Kombat looks amazing!

Droid Control5559d ago

Yeah, what better way to remember the sactrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ than with a debased video game

FiLTHY ESKiMO5558d ago

Not everyone is religious--and, obviously, not everyone takes things as seriously as you.

I am going to play Mortal Kombat all throughout Easter. :)

What a great way to resurrect the mythological tale of Mortal Kombat then to release it in conjunction with the another great myth, that guy who said he was the son of God. Which one was that again...Oh wait...they all say that don't they?

Not to bag on one's religion, if it works for you great, but if you've ever studied religions, at the core they all do say the same thing. It is difficult for people to grasp though so...your forgiven.

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

DarXyde65d ago

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

Soy65d ago

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

Mortal Kombat: Flawless Victory Announced

A new book detailing the artwork of the franchise has been announced

robtion330d ago

Let me fix this title to something less click baity for you:

New Book: Mortal Kombat: Flawless Victory Announced.

Garethvk330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

The description clearly says what it is. It is not like people have to click to the site. They just have to read.

robtion330d ago

Sure they don't have to go to the site but to get to the description they already have to have clicked on it. Thus the term 'click bait'.

Rebel_Scum330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

If its a book say its a book in the article title. Everyone’s gonna think this is a new game and get annoyed reading your description.

Garethvk330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

The Mods had no issues with the title.
The first line under the image says new book and you can see it in the preview windows without even having to click to read the description.

It also says a Visual History on the image.

Rebel_Scum330d ago

On desktop and mobile the text a visual history is not visible in the thumbnail on the homepage.

I grew up on this stuff. Adding it to the art collection!

I do hope the next MK iteration goes back to the core of what made these characters appeal in the first place. A few of them lost their edge - I think I've had enough with some of the auntie designs 😂
