IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover with massive performance problems

German videogameblog Videospielkultur.de reports that Ubisofts latest aircombat simulation IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover has got a problems with the performance. They say that the frames in the game drop from more than 100 frames to less than 10 on a regular basis. They also offer a solution: Users with NVIDIA-Cards who face the problem should use the NVIDIA Inspector and switch the gameprofile to Wings of Prey. Videospielkultur says that this should bring a performanceboost but still warn of buying the game as long as there are no patches.

What are players saying about that? How is the lag.

I spent many years in Aces High 1 and 2.. 600+ pilots at once. Would love to pick this up if they nailed the lag.

nm- it's a slide show. Needs serious patching.

I disagreed, it is meant to have 128 players but there are no servers online and the game is almost unplayable due to a massive number of problems.

Don't buy this game yet, wait for the patch.

I love IL 2 but I wouldn't come near this game with a ton feet pole. This game is buggy as hell and it's devoid of the features you would come to expect from a IL 2 game. There isn't even any squad management or a semi dynamic campaign.

The best information I've found is over at the SIM HQ forums.

I can't sit here and act like I know these workers financial situations. And I'm sure nobody wakes up WANTING to go to court. But for the sake of the industry, I wish some of these types of cases made it to trial.

Settlements allow companies to continue to do whatever abusive practices they do. While the trials (should the company lose) would actually force real changes for the better.

But again, I'm not in these workers shoes and I can understand them not wanting to risk it.
