While there were themes of sacrifice and love and trust and space opera and and and, it was ultimately no more than one thing – you versus Saren. That was it. The opening segment of the game established Saren as a Spectre up to no good and when the frustration of the court sequence was done, your goal was then clear. Stop Saren.

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

Based on one narratively fitting ending in Mass Effect 3, Prothean squadmate Javik is highly unlikely to return in the next Mass Effect game.
He was one of my least favorite characters. I wish they would have done the Proths different.

Agree well with the first point. I loved how good a villain Saren was and the battle him and Shepard had. The fact that he was just a tool for Sovereign was a big realisation too, but it didn't take away from Saren's importance or his influence on the story. Agree about having a stronger story structure too. ME2 was focused way too much on building a team. It was nice to get these squad members and learn about them but most of it just really wasn't that important or interesting (Miranda, Grunt, Jacob). But perhaps that's what Bioware were hoping for; spend a game doing that so that in the next game you can jump straight from the word go and get on with the real story. Then again if your whole team died...
And YES on Wrex! Grunt doesn't hold a candle to him, and hearing Wrex just simply say "Shepard." makes my day.
