But these two franchises, did they deserve the popularity they got or were they just so completely hyped by the majority that they were accepted as the best shooter games? Even I cannot answer this question without getting thrown a comment or two from people who love these two multi-million dollar franchises. My normal opinion of today would be that I don't enjoy FPS games as much as the fanboy would, but that's favoritism and I need to explain a bit how I ended up to that conclusion."

Starting today, Game Pass Ultimate drops from $29.99 to $22.99 a month. PC Game Pass will also drop from $16.49 to $13.99 a month. Prices may vary by region.
Beginning this year, future Call of Duty titles won’t join Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass at launch. New Call of Duty games will be added to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass during the following holiday season (about a year later), while existing Call of Duty titles already in the library will continue to be available.
In my region, it’s still more expensive than it was before the last price hike, but it’s a far more viable price point.
Losing Call of Duty from the service, honestly, has zero effect on me, and given they chose to make it so, it’s probably not the big seller they originally thought. Overall, it’s really good news, but I still think they have work to do on the tier structure, having Premium and PC at the same price point with different features feels odd.
Yep take COD out. Them waiting a year is interesting but it make sense. They don't want certain ppl waiting 4 to 6 months they want fomo and maximum sales. Wait a year while the new one releases.
Ok so far so good.
Evercade has teased a new DOOM release for their platform.
I hope they make a Doom themed VS unit with red lighting. it will be like the Duke 3d one they did a couple years ago.

A new Call of Duty game that isn't Modern Warfare 4 may be coming, and the surprise re-emergence of Warzone Mobile could be crucial to it.
Aside from some demos, Doom was the only FPS I've ever played. I don't get the appeal, it just seems like they're all the same. Sometimes the enemies are nazis, sometimes they're aliens, sometimes they're terrorists. The objective is the same: kill 'em all. Every once in awhile one of them brings something new to the table. CoD brought multiplayer. I don't know which one was the first to include sniper scopes. There have obviously been games that innovated the FPS genre, but what have they done for gaming in general?
You know what else is getting old, besides COD or FPS? All these news articles hung up on them like we're in for some kind of Apocalypse. The gaming community being over-dramatic as usual.
I can pretty much sum up any genre and say they all are basically about "X" and "Y". Then again, I'd just avoid playing them. I don't even play that many FPS. Why does every news article posted on this site have to be someone nobodies opinion about COD or a rant about a genre he doesn't like.
The author said he can't stop playing guitar hero something IMO is re-used over and over...they all seem the same to me, nothing interesting or fun about them and even admitted he couldn't explain why he liked them. Then again, I don't make meaningless rants about them. Just don't play them. I hate COD, but I'm not sour that a lot of people like something I don't. People play and buy COD because it's fun, get over it.
