You may remember a small post about an interesting, unknown game called Hawken. It may have also grabbed your attention immediately due to the fact that it's being developed by a 9-man studio! The game was a work in progress back then, but now it looks as if Adhesive Games LTD has taken some huge steps in progressing the title. They just released a brand new trailer showing us a good amount of gameplay, and the mech-themed FPS looks to be coming along quite well. Take a look at the gameplay below and tell us you can believe 9 men have come up with this in 9 months! Maybe a few other studios should take a look at how manpower can be properly allocated?

Expect the game to only work offline right now.

As we trend ever deeper into a world of games that require servers maintained by the developer or publisher, we see more and more games disappearing from the world. What happens when these games are shut down? What does it take for a game to survive beyond this point?
Most modern games that have online components like destiny rely so heavily on co op between players that even if you had a full disc version popping it in and playing won't be a fun experience as you can't play the actual game after hitting a wall with difficulty levels of they even boot
But classic titles like vice city will still be the same in 2049 as they were in 2001 provided you play on a disc not stripped down digital versions that have the soundtrack cut out ten years later

Hawken, the free to play mech shooter has had its servers closed on Steam, but it will remain live on consoles.
This is exactly why only online multiplayer games won't last very long. It's important to have a single player campaign (a good one, not a throw-away trash story) or some kind of offline multiplayer mode.
The graphics, animations and all are pretty good, but the gameplay looks really generic.
I don't know, it may be good.
And did they use the same font of Unreal Tournament III?
Holy shit. Now that's talent. This article is right. Developers should be looking at this Dev team to see how to add more content is very little time. I'm extremely impressed and wish the team the best of luck.
This game jumped on my radar. I love the Mechwarrior games and this definitely has that vibe. My understanding is they are making this game as a Download only title ...possibly XBLA and PSN but not sure on that.
Extremely impressive! cool take on fps multiplayer as well
Wow, this looks awesome!
