According to Joystiq's source, the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot will feature an "online pass" for access to the game's multiplayer. Mortal Kombat's publisher Warner plans to use this method to discourage the sale of used games, as the pass will be one-time-use only and will give online access only to one user. However, Warner will apparently allow the purchase of online passes via Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

A new book detailing the artwork of the franchise has been announced
Let me fix this title to something less click baity for you:
New Book: Mortal Kombat: Flawless Victory Announced.
I grew up on this stuff. Adding it to the art collection!
I do hope the next MK iteration goes back to the core of what made these characters appeal in the first place. A few of them lost their edge - I think I've had enough with some of the auntie designs 😂

Ahead of the release of the new Mortal Kombat skins in Fortnite, Epic Games has given players a first look at Scorpion, Kitana, and Raiden.
Hmmmmm do not like. Looks like I might aswell get this new then when I can afford it.
First thoughts = WTF
Hope this doesn't become a trend.
And what if the code isn't in the new game box? You know, due to human error? We're forced to pay 10 dollars for a feature that should be free..STUPID
Why penalize gamers who buy used game? How is that even fair to us? I almost always buy used games because I don't always have 60 dollars to pay for a new game. And I like to wait for bugs and glitches to be ironed out
Just please don't let this become a trend
if i were to buy this preowned(which im not), it better damm not have a hiccup online if i have to pay to play.
On one hand this sickens me cuz now I cant lend it to a friend. But I do understand the position used game sales have put devs in. Gamers always lose :(.
Why wouldn't anyone just buy it new anyway? You a fan of MK? Support the hardworking people that made it for you and allow them to afford to make more. Makes sense to me. Gamestop is making money hand over fist and they add nothing to the landscape. Help those that put years of their lives into entertaining us. Whaddya save buying it used? 10 bucks? Come on, cough up the loot people. These people have earned it.
