buying a used game isnt stealing. I dont buy used games, but I do trade in old ones to buy New ones sometimes.

If you buy a product, you have the right to sell it. They have the right to charge used buyers to play online, but its still lame.

Buying used is the same as stealing? Have you never bought something used? From a garage sale? A thrift store? Did they cuff you and send you to jail? Didn't think so.

How absolutely absurd. No wonder these companies are laughing at us with people who think like this...

And with that logic pirating isn't same as stealing?. Because the company isn't missing a game disc, I just copied it?

The company losses money because you may had an intention of really buying that game.
If you think you could justify a market of used games as a "garage sale", then you are a hypocrite, because I could justify pirating as a simple download that does no harm to anyone.

Not at all. I don't exactly plan on spending hours upon hours playing this game either. Paying extra for the online portion when i can only use it on my profile is a big no-no for me. The game looks fun as hell though!

The online pass for NHL11 pissed me the fuck off. It's not the measly $10 either. Like Visari mentionned below, it's out of principle.

It's the concept behind it. Not everyone has $60 to put on multiple games within the plethora of games that come out. What I mean by this is companies throwing out their games within the same timeframe as other ones. The holiday times are a big pain for this one, especially when your children ask for multiple things.

It's really just cornering you into having to pay for a feature for shopping smart in the past.

Here's the thing: Why can't they reward people for buying games new, not penalize it.

That's what the major difference is. It's not about kids, or adults, etc. This has NOTHING to do with age range.

I get developers need to make money outside of the used sales situation. But what they keep not understanding is the financial situation people are put in. People buy things/rent them because it's cheaper than spending flat out $60. There's reasons why places like Amazon have high sales, when you get credit for buying through them towards the purchase of something else.

However as I stated before, some of them penalize users with features that you have to pay extra for to enjoy, rather than just making content that rewards people for being with them from launch.

People like you who don't think this all the way through are part of the problem. It enables companies to be as greedy as they want charging us more, for less.

Games are released unfinished requiring multiple patches, single player campaigns getting shorter and shorter so they can sell you the rest as "DLC". MP's are all a carbon copy of other games that are abandoned by most 4 or 5 months down the road so they can buy the same thing they already own, just with a different paint job.

And people like you just smile and say keep it coming. Proclaiming Devs and Pubs deserve MORE for their "hardwork".

I dont buy used games at all, only trade in old ones for new games sometimes. However, I still think this is lame.

Every used copy has already been bought new by the original owner. The devs got their money. Im sure they might loose some money because of trade ins, but they also sell more new games because people can get money for the old ones and buy more games then they could normaly.

Why should customers have to pay extra because of the success of places like GS. If devs hate used game sales then why dont they just not allow GS to sell their new games, or stop giving GS preorder bonuses???? Ohh because gamestop sells a shit ton of consoles and new games too.

I have never needed an online pass, but charging people who buy your product used to unlock features is lame period. I support devs and buy all my games new, but I still think its lame.

Imagine if all industries did stuff like this. If I bought a used integra from my friend but I couldn't go over 60MPH unless I paid acura the "used fee" to fully use a product that I OWN fair and square. Yeah it wouldnt fly for other industries and shouldn't be ok in the videogame industry.

Its only so long before we pay $60 for a disk with a menu and have to pay to unlock each part of the game.
