Crysis 2 is definitely superior and that's without bringing the PC version into this which is easily a generation ahead of Killzone 3. The amount of denial from Playstation fanboys is hilarious. Go to any site but this one and the answer is Crysis 2.

KZ 3 is the best looking game on any platform, pc included.

Gameplay > Graphics

Hence why World of Warcraft > Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, Aion, Champions Online, Star Trek Online etc. lol the list goes on.

Edit: And to be honest I prefer Crysis 2 gameplay to Killzone 3. The Nanosuits cause for really fun multiplayer gameplay.

Crysis 2 looks dull and boring.. compared to Killzone 3 which has a lot of things going at once on the screen. I guess u can't compare a Real War game to stealth shooting game like Crysis 2.

Looking at the comparison video, IMO Killzone 3 edges out Crysis 2 visually! What people aren't talking about that should matter, is the fact that Killzone 3 has so much more going on in the video. Sure the explosion and, lighting effects makes Crysis 2 an excellent addition to any console owners collection.

It's simple.

Killzone 3 > Crysis 2

Crysis 1 > Crysis 2

I own both games, Killzone 3 is overall more polished as it has a smoother framerate and just feels more solid. Crysis 2 on consoles feels like a PC game that is struggling on consoles. BUT it looks amazing, the lighting and the way they have designed everything makes it look as close to realism as I have seen in a game to date.

Crysis 2 with DX11 is going to destroy everything out there, only thing holding back Crysis 2 is the console power. Killzone 3 I don't think is equal as it's not as open as Crysis 2 and doesn't have that sexy lighting going on. But it does have better textures in places, especially the gun models that have no equal. so I'll call it a draw until DX11 patch is out.

Also the video si not really fair, all the Killzone 3 footage is action packed, it just makes Killzone 3 look more exciting. They are different games with different pacing, it's not really fair to judge them like this side by side.

And I fully expect to get marked down, N4G has the worst Killzone fanboys on any site, they are mental and need help. They can't accept people just don't fap over their game like they do.

Crysis has better gameplay, no contest, and that's all that matters really. You can play your childish graphics wars all day. It's silly.

I mentioned in another thread a few days ago that I thought that Crysis 2 was NOT the best looking PS3 game after being a couple of hours into it.

After near completion though, I'm not fully sure that I was correct. Crysis 2 has wowed me on multiple occasions now while being a completely different experience.

It's all subjective really. Both look great.

Crysis > Crysis Warhead > Crysis 2 PC > KZ3, GoW3, UC2 > Crysis 2 Consoles

When KZ2 came out, it looked way superior to any other game out there. It made Halo 3/ODST and CoD look like last gen games. But we got a lot of incessant criticism of the game being generic, “lacks colour,” allegedly poor AI, etc.

So now that they have got rid of most of these issues, why are we seeing so many graphics comparisons? They got rid of the input lag, have more variety in combat (jetpacks, tanks), multiplayer (operations), have brought in splitscreen, more environments (jungle, ice, the most awesome example of either in any game I have seen), the enemy AI was deadly to begin with.

Basically, unlike many other “top” developers they have listened to feedback, made an already good game even better – and I am talking about the gameplay. As far as graphics go, forget KZ2, few other games would be able to match even KZ2. But the gameplay alone means that millions of PS3 owners not buying this game are losing out on one of the best FPS experiences this gen.

I just got crysis 2, I'm about half way through the single player. I already beat KZ3.

I have to say KZ3 is visually, and technically a more sound and polished game.

Crysis 2's lighting is top notch almost all the time, but the graphical issues and bugs are so apparent it detracts from what would be an extremely beautiful game. Texture load ins everywhere, shadow issues, weird clipping issues, floating objects, low resolution textures, etc....

That coupled with the less than smart AI which tends to do nothing some times. It seems their solution for that is to offer up never ending enemies. You clear out a place, wait a minute and people are behind you shooting. Never ending AI doesn't make better AI. I also had a weird sound bug where it sounded like a silenced gun was shooting constantly for 10 mins. I get stuck on nothing at times in the battlefield.

All around KZ3 just feels more polished, visually, performance, and gameplay wise. Now these are my opinions, I'll probably get around to doing a review on here for Crysis 2 to talk about all these issues, I'll also try to get pictures and videos for proof since there are hundreds of instances throughout the game. But those who've already played it probably know what I'm referencing.

i'm surprised that in KZ3 the guy was able to change his weapon while carrying the huge rocket launcher. when i did that i just lost the rocket launcher and i had to like go all the way back and pick it up again. but then again.. that i tried it on demo.

and for those who's saying KZ3 is showing action packed scene and Crysis is not... well, you can thank god that on KZ3, they're not showing the giant robot scene.

in the end i like crysis due to the gameplay, it feels like to me a hybrid of COD and halo, and thats just awesome!

KZ3 looks better in my opinion.

Both games look fantastic, on the PS3 that is, but for me what makes KZ3 win this fight is the sheer amount going on, on the screen, forget the MAWLR fight, thats not nearly as intense and as hectic as the short burst from under the MAWLR to the space elevator, dont get me wrong I enjoyed Crysis2 and it does look great but if you want a great looking WAR in a game then at this moment nothing comes close to KZ3

Both those games look great, and for a multi-platform game, Crysis is fantastic.
Myself, I'm not bothered which is the best looking, I just know I love them both, visually.

Gears of War 3 will most likely beat both of them.

Killzone 3 looks way better, and there's way more going on with way more stuff on screen and more effects.

Killzone 3's MP looks as good as it's single player campaign.

KZ3 seems to be more action packed, but i think in places crysis is better, in others killzone3 looks great as well.

I love the lighting in Crysis and killzone3.

Art style is different.

They are both cream of the crop graphically. In terms of gameplay though Crysis is a cut above Killzone. You can run-and-gun or play stealthy (ala MGS), and the nanosuit offers tonnes of fun gameplay mechanics.

Wow this site and is filled with Sony loyalists. Crysis 2 looks so crisp and clear in this comparison even though the windows are so small. KZ3 as I said before looks so blurry, brown and the textures are so bad it's unbelievable.

I said this once and I'll say it again the consoles can't handle Crysis 2's scale which is why they're suffering from bad fps and low resolutions. I mean just look at Crysis 2's gun model compared to KZ3, everything looks crystal clear and the lighting is phenomenal.

People talk about how much is going on, but in actual fact Crysis 2's scenery is what's going on, whereas everything in KZ3 is pretty much static and the lighting isn't real-time either.

If GG tried to render Crysis 2's scenery with their engine the game would've ran at 10fps, that's why KZ3 is more or less the same as KZ2 ans some areas worse.

Their jungles turned out to be a warehouse painted green lol. But what proves that KZ3 is the same as KZ2 is it's sales.

When it comes down to a debate between which great looking game looks better it becomes a matter of individual preference of art styles and nothing more.

Can I also point out that the KZ3 video footage on display in this article seems to be from the demo and not the full game. The final release of KZ3 is even more spectacular.

There are more insane videos too, but that would spoil the game, especially the ending. Again, with the kind of physical interactivity w/ environment, large scale and crystal clear details, while KZ3 looks great, it is not as impressive as what crysis 2 can do on the technical level. For art style, well i guess people have different opinion so can't argue with that.

PS3 fanboys are blind. Crysis 2 is doing and pushing far more than Killzone 3 could ever hope to dream for.

Honestly folk lets look at the bigger picture here. Crytek was so obsessed with making both console versions of Crysis 2 to look the same, in order to please the fan base, that they did not focus on benchmarking BOTH SYSTEMS.

Quite honestly I believed Crytek did all that they could with the XBOX 360's hardware and pushed THAT system to the limit. Not to mention the XBox's architecture is more relevant and close to that of a PC since its made by Microsoft. A format that Crytek is obviously more experienced with based on they're previous releases. Then they just merely ported it over to PS3 and focused on making it look and run just like it did on the Xbox 360.

When you look at a PS3 exclusive like Killzone 3 ,who's developers had MORE experience with the systems hardware, were able to truly push and attempt to benchmark the PS3 as much as development time and deadlines would allow. Its obvious to see that which game runs ,overall, better.

Killzone 3 looks and plays AMAZINGLY WELL. No screen tear. Extremely stable frame rate, amazing special effects and graphical fidelity. Crysis 2 shocked me because honestly I didn't think they would be able to get the game up and running on the XBox 360 as well as they did considering from a hardware perspective isn't as powerful as the PS3. But then again go back to what I said earlier from paragraph 2. Killzone 3 runs better and looks the part because thats what you get when you try and benchmark a stronger system.

There isn't a doubt in my mind Crysis 2 on the Playstation 3 would've have looked and ran just as well as Killzone 3 if they would have attempted to benchmark that system. But the focus was not to benchmark the PS3 but to merely get both console version of Crysis 2 to run and look the same. A goal in which they achieved.

But do not mistake. Killzone 3 looks, feels and runs better. Crysis 2 is an astounding game but it is what it is.

Fact: KZ3 most of KZ3 lightsources cast shadows while most of Crysis 2 do not.

What's the use of having real-time global illumination when 99% of the lights cast no shadows? It looks ridiculous.

It's kind of pathetic and sad to even try and put anything up against Killzone 3. It's almost like Killzone is the bully here, as it manhandles CRY-sis 2 with such ease. Anyone trying to justify CRY-sis 2 is blind and they clearly haven't played Killzone 3.

Killzone 3 definitely looks better overall, it's rendering roughly 10,0000 more pixels than crysis 2 since the latter is a sub hd game. The framerate, texture filtering, AA, texture streaming, shadow updating are all much better in kz3, not to mention it maintains them with tons of actions on screen. The lighting and GI are beautiful in Crysis 2 but the rest just don't stack up as well as kz3.

Why compare KZ3 pre-release demo to Crysis 2 retail? I like Crysis 2 campaign better. KZ3 has the best SFX of any game I can recall at the moment. Also I expexted the 3D to better on KZ3 since it is a PS3 exclusive.

Gratz Guerilla, amazing Studio and engine, love Decima!

I was never a huge fan of Killzone, but thoroughly enjoy Horizon. Guerrilla are superb developer and easily up there with the best of the best.

Need a killzone 2 remake from the ground up.

One of the most creative studios out. I hope they keep it up.

Great studio, loved the Killzone series, I wish they would do a remake of the first three games. Horizon is a real step up and truly put Guerrilla Games on the map.

Too bad I never got a chance to play Shellshock: Nam’67 would have loved to try that game out back in the days to see what were their beginnings.

Bring back killzone (maybe in 3rd person perspective)

It would fantastic to see what they could do in Killzone after the lessons learned through Horizon.

Or heck, give us even a short linear FPS from the people who designed Cauldron THETA in the Burning Shores expansion. Even just flying into it (after gliding around and finding its opening amongst the lava and Sunwings perched around it, with other bigger machines just along the path toward it) was an incredible experience.

Forbidden West is awesome, It’s pretty damn big compared to Zero Dawn and it takes a little while to get your skills up and get the equipment you need to fully explore the game (not going to spoil it) but once you do those things and start fighting the big ass machines it really is amazing. Some cool side quests to where you hold the fate of peoples lives by your choice and the cauldrons look amazing. Lots of skills , combos, special moves and add ons for your weapons so you can approach fights many ways. Looking forward to the name game but I wonder how/if Silas will be a part of it or not ? Sad he’s gone.

20 years of mid-tier games and they are trending down.

I'm hyped for whenever Horizon 3 releases but Killzone 1 needs a remake BAD and 2 & 3 need remasters. Criminal those games are stuck on PS3.
