Given the game's long, dubious history, the latest delay of Duke Nukem Forever shouldn't have come as a shock to anyone.
It's certainly not a long one, by Duke standards. And while some doubters in gaming forums across the Internet have seized on this as a chance to say "I told you so!," most fans and developers have barely blinked at the news, except perhaps to tip their hats at the clever way Gearbox announced the news.
But the ironic part of this delay is that it's probably the best thing that could happen to the game.
Duke Nukem Forever originally began its life as a sidescroller instead of a shooter back in 1996, and that canceled version has just been leaked.
Very cool, but i don't know how real this is... I'll check it out later to find out.

kinda of a misleading title.
Mod features:
Sprinting removed and faster player movement
Jump height increased
Swim speed is much faster
Player can now hold breath underwater for 45 seconds instead of 15
Weapon rebalance and screen shake when shooting removed
2/4 weapon limit completelly removed
Quicksaves (F5 by default)
Depth of Field removed and new post processing effects
Driving sections are now in first person perspective

It is pretty amazing, I remember being so hyped that they covered the Duke theme back when it happened haha. I still quite enjoyed Forever though personally.

Wow, that advanced lighting makes a huge difference to the visuals. I get that Gearbox tried to slap everything together and release a finished product. But it seems like they cut out a lot of content that would have made the experience more enjoyable. That's a shame.
Same, the AI could be pretty dumb but the bosses were fun. I thought the levels (mostly) got better later in the game too.
It's tradition that Duke gets delayed.
Well, for a game that is on the works for 14 years, it will be no surprise if they delay it more 14.
and than right after release it
i don't expect more than 7/10 or even 6.5 read the latest ign preview and you can see this game has has 6-10 year old gameplay issues
we have had better shooters done right so gearbox better make this right
and about delay it makes all the sense delay the game that was delayed for so long just for LOL
They should probably wave off at this point until the xbox 720 and the ps4 launch and rework the game for those consoles.
Who cares? is the game going to live up to the hype?
