Those pics are a goddamn lie. I own one of those original 60 GB SKUS and the PS2 RE4 and I can assure you it doesn't look like that (left side of the image) at all, when you upscale the game. And that compilation should have come with RE Outbreak 1&2, but of course those were PS2 games and Capcom wants to make as much money as possible and bring that compilation to the xbox360 too, so we only have 2 games *sigh* Greedy bastards.

Let's just hope it will at least look better than the GC version this time around.

I'd like to see more comparison shots of Code: Veronica than RE4. Resident Evil 4 looks fine the way it is, even to this day.

I think it would have been more respectable of them to release "Gamecube Styled" remakes of RE 2 and RE 3, rather than a cleaned up version and a bonus mode for a game that's been more times to make Mikami's hair fall out.

I'm sure he's not going to be too happy to hear this news. Considering the fact he left capcom for them porting RE 4 the first time when he specifically asked them to leave it an exclusive for the Gamecube. Bastards.

I don't remember RE4 being that blurry on PS2.

Edit: Just put in the PS2 version and it still looks great. The somehow messed up the PS2 screens. Probably by resizing them to fit next to the PS3 shots.

these is great to hear i have played resident evil on my game cube ( when it came out) but dont finish it so now that it is coming to the PS3 on the PSN i might get it with upgraded graphics game play trophies and these is the best resident evil i am sure everyone is looking forward to buying it

I think RE4 looked pretty good on GC back when it came out. I think it used some sort of noise filter to blur out textures in the distance, to maximize the performance of the game. But overall, I remember the game being pretty crisp and sharp looking most of the time. Not sure how the PS2 version looked, as I never got around to playing it, but surely, the screens in the article can't be accurate? Either way, the HD upgrade looks gorgeous! Will def get this when it comes out.

Has it been confirmed for North America and Europe yet, or is this a Japan only title at the moment? Knowing Capcom, they'll most likely release it worldwide, as RE is one of their most beloved franchises. This one would be worth it for me with Code Veronica alone (one of the best RE in my opinion), but bundled with RE4, this is a sure winner for all RE fans.

Now, the only question I have for Capcom is; Where's the remake of RE2?:)

I don't remember RE4 being that blurry, I have it on the Gamecube and I know thats apparently better visually than the PS2 version but even so I highly doubt the PS2 version was like that.

EXCELLENT. Now these kids can play a REAL game from back before patches and COD. Not that they're bad, but long time gamers know WTF I'm talking about. I remember that creepy little 4 foot guy dressed like Patrick Henry. I remember working out A LOT after seeing Krauser. I also remember Ashley's HUGE EARS.

People who didn't use Progressive Scan when playing RE4 on a HDTV. Yes, it look A LOT better than those comparison screen shots, they used vanilla RE4 and decided to opt out the Progressive Scan option, same as they do in the comparison shots for SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS, GOD OF WAR etc... Cheap trick if you ask me, that's like setting a PC game at minimal resolution.

If the option is there it should be used to show the games at their best.

I've recently hooked my GameCube up to my HDTV and tried to play RE4. It does look TERRIBLE. It looks just as bad when I put the GC disk in my Wii.

The PS2 pics don't look liker they were taken from an HDTV, but an old school standard def TV set. I know RE4 isn't in HD but it would look clearer than those screen shots. So this is an unfair comparison.

Honestly, why is anyone even comparing the PS2 version of this game to a HD remake? How fucking thick are people? Better still, how far up Sony's anus do you have to be? The definitive version of this game is the Gamecube original. If you're going to compare a remake, compare it to the best version possible, FFS.

I started playing RE4 on the Wii but I just could not keep playing with that dumb ass control system..... like pull the trigger to draw gun and press button to fire.... I mean come on how hard is it to realise that you should use the trigger as a trigger??

Well... obviously quite hard as they did the same thing with the Move version of RE5.

I will be interested in Resident Evil again when they give the game decent controls and don't really on clunky controls and stupid camera angles to build tension.

I realllllly enjoyed Resident Evil 1, and thought it was one of the best experiences on the PSone, but it just hasn't evolved.... the clunky controls were completely understandable and acceptable back then.... but not now!
