Some of you need to play through MGS4 again. When Snake was cloned from Big Boss his life span was deliberately shortened. He only had a few months left before walking through that microwave on Outer Haven, then the walk itself probably shortened his life further. On top of that, both Ocelot and Liquid are dead, Snake's out of enemies. He's finished his work and gone somewhere nice to die in peace. I don't think MGS5 is going to happen.

I hope one of the games are on the NGP, perhaps a Peace walker port on the NGP.

How can they make an MGS5? Snake's story is over, so unless they make another prequel (which would really be milking it) I doubt we will see it.

Please no more MGS. MGS4 concluded a 20 year saga wonderfully. Please don't feel the need to milk the series further. Just let it go and move onto another new IP.

I have no doubt we will see Peace Walker running on PS3 hardware this year at E3.

I'm pretty sure Solid Snake's story is finished with 4, but I would love to see PS3 completely remade versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2:Solid Snake. Though Snake Eater is definitely on top for me, These two are probably my favorite story wise right under snake eater.

I can't imagine a main entry in MGS without Snake, a prequel of Peace Walker's caliber although will be sufficient.

Another MGS would be awesome, but what I really want to see is another Zone of the Enders (although a new IP is up there as well, I wonder what's been cooking in that man's brain). I am kinda shocked to see some still trying to move forward in light of what has happened in Japan though (but I guess sometimes that is all you can do).

Man, I hope this rumor is true. My all time favorite TPS series of all time is this series. I know that story ended at MGS4, but think about the possiblities of a awesome side story like MGS3.

No one knows if it will go multiplatform.

If I had to bet, I'd say one was a MGS 1-3 HD collection. A few weeks ago he said he was checking in on the progress of a game a Konami US and I could see a US dev studio handling the port since the original devs never do HD collections.

Maybe the other is an NGP game, or that Peace Walker port.

I just don't see them coming out with MGS5 while Rising is still in the works.

God I hope so. The obvious ones that we want are MGS 5 and Z.O.E. 3. There is no way that MGS4 will be the only MG game on the PS3... That's just too sad to take in. And ZOE... How long have we asked for this... Please make it so Mr Kojima!

I don't want them to expand the MGS series too much. It's really complete after MGS4 and Peace Walker, and while Rising covers an unknown chapter MGS shouldn't keep on expanding forever. A truly good story has a great end.

It will not be a playstation exclusive, as the IP went multi-platform. Read back about the details, Rising was not a temporary multiplatform test. The IP, is now widespread just like GTA.

For me Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was one of the best games ever made, the story was so well-written. I liked MGS4, just not as much. In my opinion, MGS5 MUST have solid snake/david hater otherwise it won't be the same...sort of like Two and a Half Men sans Charlie Sheen....

It will probably be Zone of Enders 3 only on Playstation 3.

Although it would be nice if 360 gamers could play it as well.

I didn't really like MGS4, first ps3 game I bought, but I was fairly dissapointed. Sick to death of raiden, the whole plot was thin except the ending, and while I like cut scenes, the gameplay was uneventful, almost just an excuse to get to the next movie clip.

Would much rather them remake 1 and 2, not solid, but the NES ones, if they wanna do anymore with the Metal Gear name.

Though an unrelated new IP could be interesting.

I hope its not an NGP exclusive that would suck ass, even though i'm probably gonna get an NGP anyway.

My thoughts on this is that the first one will be MGS4 Subwhatever, since that is LONG overdue.

And of course it'll come with a Story Theater mode, some new way to play the main story, VR Missions of some type allowing you to complete a number of challenges with more characters than just Snake, and trophies (obviously).

I wouldn't put it past Kojima to also throw in a boss mode that allows you to fight bosses from MGS1-4 all upscaled to fit in, with MGS4 graphics. Also, in the same places you fought them in the original title.

Not so sure what else they would add on the Multiplayer front. Maybe have 4 player Co-op in VR Training, and boss mode. That's pretty much all I'd need. Or an alternate mode that allows you to play missions as Meryl's team.

hideo kojima already has plans in the future to work on another zoe game & knows people have been asking for it so rest assure we will see another zoe game down the road this gen.

NGP - MG1 & 2 HD remix (makes sense, shoot they ran MGS4 cutscenes on the damned thing)

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

So now there's certifiable proof that Ryan was in fact "fired", as opposed to when it was first announced that he "retired", in order to save face.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
