Talk of an online play segment in the game emerged over the weekend, based on quotes from an Italian interview with art director Radek Marek.
Radek apparently said that, “At the moment there will be no multiplayer modes in Silent Hill: Downpour, but Konami are investigating a separate chapter devoted entirely to the multiplayer.”
Apparently not.
“Whoever that Italian interviewer was either took Radek’s comments completely out of context, or it was lost in translation,” said Shatsky.

Konami is planning to further expand the Silent Hill series beyond the remake of the first entry and Silent Hill: Townfall.
Very unlikely to happen, but I really wish they at least remastered Shattered Memories. From a story telling point, that is still my favourite title and I think it would fit really well as a VR game.
When I want to play silent hill game I always expect to get the same atmosphere I was see in SH 1 & 2 with deep and great story connect with silent hill city (not another city ) so if Konami want to continue release new games it should based on the success of these games.
In my opinion I think the game need :
- improve combat ( no more action just improve the combat and physics)
- another good and deep story
- improve creatures and enemies design
- add mysterious puzzles and it will be good if these puzzles connected with game story
- and of course Akira should involved in the project.
- create mysterious characters

Konami announced its financial results for the first half of fiscal year 2026, related to the period between April 2025 and September 2025.
Looks like Mobile is still their bread and butter. But I'm glad they are at least diversifying finally...
My god what I'd give for a new Castlevania game.... Still one of the coolest IPs in gaming.... I'd love to play a AAA Castlevania game that gets the god of war treatment.... Treat the whip like a character. Simon Belmont.... Dracula. Go.

The Wachowskis once approached Hideo Kojima to make a Matrix game in the late '90s, but were reportedly shut down by one of the company's higher ups, according to a former vice president of licensing at Konami Digital Entertainment.
good
As long as its not part of the main franchise and just a spin-off , much like "Resident Evil Outbreak" was to Capcoms franchise, I wouldn't mind. However, it would need balancing in order to maintain fear. Ideas being for:
- The 2 players to continuously be seperated
- Scarce ammunition
- stronger opponents & more
good why the hell does silent hill need multiplayer for?
Phew, that was worrying!
Only way I can imagine SH working in multiplayer is story based co-op, probably with the characters being stuck in the different alt "dimensions" and rarely if ever meeting properly. (a bit like the movie) It'd be interesting to have someone in rusty/red/hell being able to influence foggy SH despite not visibly being there.
It could have built in voice comms which is crapped up with interference, making it nearly impossible to communicate with your counterpart/s. Ok that's sadistic.
Makes more sense not to have multiplayer at all.
They've got their priorities straight, and know it's best to focus wholly on the single player component, as not to jeopardise its quality by slapping on a tacky multiplayer element that, frankly, no one wants.
Downpour is gonna be ace.
