I thought this was supposed to be like Half-Life 2.
Leading up to Homefront’s release, developer Kaos Studios repeatedly name-dropped the best-ever first-person shooter like it was their second cousin. They said things like, “we wanted to maximize player immersion with our world, and we drew inspiration from what Valve did,” and “Half-Life and Half-Life 2 are definitely the two big influences on the work that we’ve done.”
I don’t see it.

Jack writes: "Back in March 2011, the first-person action shooter Homefront arrived on the Xbox 360 from THQ, along with a storm of publicity which included a really cool live-action trailer"

Last week game dev Steve Thornton took to Twitter to ask: fellow devs, have you ever slipped something into a game you're working on that's just for you? The replies are well worth a read.

Deep Silver and Humble Bundle are currently offering the first Homefront game for free. This offer will last for the next 48 hours, so be sure to visit its Humble Bundle page in order to acquire your free copy.
get it! the single player is excellent and intense and the MP is pretty fun, too.
Ehh, PS4 needs these deals too, or consoles in general we always get discounts rarely free stuff that's REALLY free (games with gold / psplus isn't free)
Half-Life 2 is my all time favorite game. As for shooters go, nothing can beat the depth and length of Half-Life 2. This being said... I very much liked the single player campaign of Homefront as short as it was. I didn't want it to end.
I wanted to like Homefront soo bad, but I just can't. The graphics are outdated, not even matching the 4 year old COD4.
The campaign is way too short being easily beatable in one sitting. The voice acting and dialogue were just plain awful. It's sad since the story could have been quite epic.
Online multiplayer has some good aspects, with a much better spawning system than COD games. Unfortunately, the guns don't sound and react that well, and don't feel that unique when compared to one another. Battle points is a decent concept, but with poor graphics and gameplay that really amounts to a second-rate FPS, the game has little staying power.
Sadly I will be turning mine back in for credit and trying to salvage whatever money I can. I probably just paid $20 to play a 5 hour campiagn.
Call of Duty: Homefront and critics would have heaped on the false praise.
People go on about the graphics but i think they are fine may not be texture rich but at least there is no jaggies at all first thing i noticed on the 360 was smooth lines but thats what i allways notice first when playing a new game.
I agree this game is not worth a 10, but its not worth getting a 6.5 either. The single player is short, but I really enjoyed it. The multiplayer has got everything that makes call of duty addicting, plus it actually works better. I would give it a 8.5
