Nintendo are one of the largest gaming companies around at the moment, and with the Wii and the DS both being huge successes, there is no surprise. However, have they made a fatal mistake with the 3DS or was it the best move to make in the market?

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.
they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.
Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

I think Nintendo have done an awesome job holding monopoly over the handheld market. Sure with mobile gaming, and the new PSP there is a wider market coming, however I'd still like to think they can remain on top when it comes to portable gaming!
The gameboy phase of my childhood will always be a fun memory! =) So part of me hopes it lives on! My cousin's loving his DS for example!
the 3ds has outsold the ds already by this point.......hell its outsold the wii
and US and europe preorders are through the roof
its already a raging success and has more games announced for development than the ds had its its whole first year.......hell the 3ds has 3 times as many rpgs in development.......
how the ngp/psp2 turns out, we dont know yet. But one thing I want to mention is the psp was not a failure. 70+ million units sold is an amazing feet that the 360 hasnt even surpassed worldwide and with an amazing library of games to boot

Thats why nintendo is always on top because all it takes is a pokemon release here, a mario release there, a zelda,golden sun, advance wars, fire emblem release, you get the idea.....
and I think the ps3 is on top right now in terms of sales. Its outsold the 360 for the last 2.2 years.
Of course Nintendo will remain on top, it's been that way since i was a kid. The 3ds will sell like crazy and the ngp will sell a lot too. The ds sold 146 million and that's huge. The psp sold 66 million and that's nothing to sneeze at either. No other portable was able to handle the wrath of nintendo and survive, and Sony has managed to do that. It's Apple that's pissing me off thinking that touch screen only if the future of gaming. But Nintendo will always be top dog in the handheld arena.
Who cares..............Really..
Maybe, maybe not. The tables turn from one gen to another, Sony was on top with the PS1 and PS2, now it's Nintendo.
