IGN - I like Killzone 3. I admire the risky controls that threaten player skill with strange momentum and weight. I like the story, a civilization fighting against itself because one of its branches has suddenly mutated and become unsympathetic. I like the bleakness of the ending, a war game that closes in a moral blackbox. If, as the 19th Century Prussian soldier Carl van Clausewitz said, war is diplomacy by other means, how can we ever really hope to be diplomatic knowing that all sides in a conflict have their willing fleets ready to drop bombs when rational exchange fails? In Killzone 3, I get the feeling that we fight because we're better at it than talking. As the writer A.C. Grayling reminds us, even in the most righteous of wars, the hardest part is having to face up to what you've done in name of the diplomatic cause. Even when it was the right thing to do it can still feel absolutely wrong .

PS1 era was full of great RPGs, PS2 was racing generation i would pick top 200 and even that would be just a fraction.
The Amsterdam-based studio reflects on its humble beginnings, beloved franchises, and growth through the years.
Up there with the top tier in the industry. Love Guerrilla Games - Horizon Burning Shores is simply STUNNING.
32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III
Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.
I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.
Such a wonderful studio. They deserve all their success.
The Decima Engine is absolute 🔥 I'm just mad they have abandoned Killzone.
DSOGaming writes: "While Sony does not plan to release Killzone 3 on the PC, Yahfz shared a video that gives us a glimpse at what such a PC version could look like."
PC almost always ends up the best place to play games, even if it takes a while.
What would you rather play decades down the line? A game at a fixed resolution and frame, considering you have a working disc, and the hardware?
Or run it on an emulator that can update the experience all around, and let you use whatever control input you prefer?
If you insist on the former, it's really only for the sake of nostalgia.
The RPCS3 devs are doing great work. And Kami works nicely with it too it seems.
Very neat.
This is by far the best PS move games so far. I hope Socom 4's controllers are as good. This game must be played with the sharpshooter to get the full effect.
"The interactive language is a sloggish incarnation of the weight of war, a first person shooter with wobbly movement, an ungainly aim, and a nasty recoil system that makes shooting a process of guesswork and intuition. It's a total contrast to the greased-lightning aim of Call of Duty"
Ummmm.........lol. No, that was Killzone 2. This one removed most of that.
"The Helghast, feeling betrayed by their former brothers and sisters on earth, decide they're superhuman powers make them the future of the species and so they invade."
lol......did this guy even play the game? Superhuman huh? God IGN sucks.
The story of Killzone remains one of the best on shooters. The back story and its continuation is very deep, interesting and rich.
It's a shame that many actually don't know much about the Helghast except what they've seen in the games. They ruled Vekta (where they lived) and Helghan. Vekta being rich in vegetation, while Helghan was a wasteland, but filled with minerals and other resources. They were kicked off Vekta, which they tried to claim back in the first killzone. Yes they are "the enemy who are evil". However the backstory puts a lot of things into perspective.
The weighty controls, recoil and aiming mechanic mentioned in this article were more prevalent in Killzone 2. I wish it wasn't removed. I'm glad IGN did this article, as the views expressed and similar to mine, of which is in the minority.
