We had the chance to sit down with Homefront's lead single player designer, Chris Cross, to talk about his new game, the pressures of creating a compelling narrative experience, and his thoughts about modern game design. Cross is one of the smartest guys in the industry and offers fascinating insights into the processes involved in building a game like Homefront...

Jack writes: "Back in March 2011, the first-person action shooter Homefront arrived on the Xbox 360 from THQ, along with a storm of publicity which included a really cool live-action trailer"

Last week game dev Steve Thornton took to Twitter to ask: fellow devs, have you ever slipped something into a game you're working on that's just for you? The replies are well worth a read.

Deep Silver and Humble Bundle are currently offering the first Homefront game for free. This offer will last for the next 48 hours, so be sure to visit its Humble Bundle page in order to acquire your free copy.
get it! the single player is excellent and intense and the MP is pretty fun, too.
Ehh, PS4 needs these deals too, or consoles in general we always get discounts rarely free stuff that's REALLY free (games with gold / psplus isn't free)
I keep hearing different opinions about this game, but I'll wait till it's about 20 bucks before i buy it.
The guys name is Chris Cross, like the crappy kid rappers? That's awesome.
Shows my age i was thinking of christopher cross of Lady in Red fame ,80s.
i love hearing how developers (designers or what ever title they like to call themselves) try to justify the 4 hour length. how can you? so many words to make an excuse when all they should say is, "we never cared for the single player, it was such a nuisance"
