Operation Flashpoint: Red River – The SOCOM Alternative? - RipTen

RipTen: When it comes to tactical squad based shooters, many people tend to think of SOCOM. However, since it’s a PS3 exclusive… what are the PC and Xbox 360 fans supposed to play?

CrzyFooL5534d ago

I wish SOCOM was multiplat. I want to play it on PC. Actually, I want to play it with the sharpshooter. Actually...I'm conflicted.

aselah5534d ago

So do I! I prefer to play these kinds of games on my PC!! Please SOCOM!! come to PC!!!

Pixelated_Army5534d ago

Just pick up a PS3 and you'll have the best of both worlds. PC for teh awesome graphics and PS3 for exclusives and PSN.

Shackdaddy8365534d ago

Ya. PC would be pretty cool as long as it doesn't take anything away from the PS3 version (I always think thats kinda unfair when that happens). Mods would be sick.

NaiNaiNai5534d ago

Last I checked consoles are what take away from a multiplat that is on PC.

Anyways looking forward to both games.

I went into this thinking that a period would be involved. Seeing only a military shooter disappointed me. Are we not done with those yet, people?

Battlefield BC2 requires tactics, as does KZ3 Operations mode. CoD is the only shooter where it is pretty much run and gun and you can be a one man team if you can twitch fast enough accurately.

as much as I hate what they did to my beloved franchise, NO!

Same Chief

Off Topic: John man I can't wait for your game!

Some mediocre - crap games there. Couldn't even include any Codemasters racing games? It's the only thing they're good at.

Canadiangamernet4306d ago

Including the Dirt series in the bundle would have been awesome but i wouldn't say they are crappy games. I liked Overlord 1 & 2 and both Operation Flashpoint are decent FPS the other one are so so for me.

guitarded774306d ago

Like I said... crappy to mediocre. I liked Overlord too. Didn't care for Operation Flashpoint. But eve liking Overlord, I have no illusions that it isn't a mediocre game.

AntsPai4306d ago

Even though it's still technically a good deal, the whole $5 or £4 thing annoys me. Humble bundle doesn't do this. No thanks.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River - The Shooter That Could Have Been The Greatest

Mobile & Apps: "One of the most underrated shooters of the previous generation was Operating Flashpoint: Red River for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. With all its problems, I believe this is a game that is worth playing, however, it is not too hard to see why the game didn't quite kick off, as it should have."

I liked it, didn't quite finish it though. Maybe I will now.

Loved this game, it was dumbed down from Dragon Rising but still an enjoyable game. Was still offputting to people looking for instant/non stop action

Theangrybogan4864d ago

Ha! Some colleagues and I are actually planning on hitting this one up tonight. Great game.
