Rocksmith Guitarist Approved

Originalgamster.com: I’ve been playing guitar for a long time… like 20 years long, and while I’ve never liked Guitar Hero or Rock Band, Ubisoft has got my attention with a little game called Rocksmith. In Rocksmith, you get to use an actual guitar as your controlled and plug in directly to your console. And not only do you get to use a real guitar, players will get to jam along to actual songs from artists like The Animals, The Black Keys, David Bowie, Interpol, Nirvana, and The Rolling Stones. While Rocksmith may not be an actual alternative to the tried and true methods of lessons and practice, it does appear to be a good alternative to previous guitar games. Rocksmith is scheduled to release in the second half of 2011 and will be available for PC, PS3 and XBOX 360. Check out the videos below and visit the official Rocksmith site here for more information.

Maybe it would work better if they plugged the xbox in a TV no wait a power source!

I was kinda tempted to get a Rock Band 3 Strat for a cheap midi compatible guitar.

I'm interested but not sold. I mean I can just go on guitarbackingtrack.com for free and play to most of my favs.

I'm actually glad that this is finally come to fruition. It's like Ubisoft have taken the potential of the GH games and took the risk that Activision were not prepared to do because it would impact their bottom line.

We've all heard both sides of the argument about the GH games as to whether or not they actually increase the desire to play an actual instrument, and now we seem to be getting the proper evolution of the music game genre.

The reason that Activision didn't go this route with the GH series? Obvious really - it negates the need for a plastic guitar, and would therefore make less money for them.

I started on GH3 and ever since then I've wanted to learn how to play a guitar. I brought a cheap pack about a month ago in fact so for me it did increase my desire to learn how to play the real thing.

I can't wait till Rocksmith comes out as I'm all ready to smash out some banging rock tunes.

I can't sit here and act like I know these workers financial situations. And I'm sure nobody wakes up WANTING to go to court. But for the sake of the industry, I wish some of these types of cases made it to trial.

Settlements allow companies to continue to do whatever abusive practices they do. While the trials (should the company lose) would actually force real changes for the better.

But again, I'm not in these workers shoes and I can understand them not wanting to risk it.
