From what I've seen, It's basically a re-hash of Frontlines: Fuel of War.

Too bad the review has so little information about the multiplayer. Anyone know if there is extensive destruction in Homefront?

Ignoring the COD comparisons (the less this game is like COD, the better); a good score for a new IP. Too many games these days have way too much hand holding with the squad/team approach. I miss the days of the lone soldier, the feeling of isolation with the Odds stacked against you. But maybe I'm old school.

Is there environmental destruction?

Only low-level, mostly superficial destruction – why you ask? Our Creative Director, Dave Votypka has this to say about environmental destruction:

"In pre-production we experimented with dynamic destruction, but found that this actually detracted from the experience. We use what we call ‘environmental narrative’ throughout our level design to tell the story of occupied USA, and allowing this environment to be destroyed takes away a lot of what we achieve with this. In multiplayer, because of our focus on lots of vehicles with heavy firepower on the map at all times, destruction would remove a lot of the structures we placed there to support the infantry game and help balance that infantry versus vehicle mechanic. For example, in our map ‘Farm’ there’s a wooden church with a belfry that’s perfect for sniping. If we allowed this to be destroyed early in the game, it would remove that tactical option from the map for the rest of the match."

The campaign was really bad, one of the worst in FPS for a long time...however the multiplayer is good and alot of fun.

Multiplayer, schmultiplayer .. really couldn't give a stuff about that.

I'll rent the game and wait until it's £12 or so in 6 months time. Money saved for Crysis 2.

im sick of games creating a single player thats onyl a few hours long and getting a free pass cause of multiplayer. I want a amazing story that has some length and isnt over in an afternoon. they may as well have just made this a multiplayer only game given the campaigns lenght.

the big maps are putting me off, i hate the larger maps in cod & battlefield, too much ground to make up after u respawn.
