Pixel Apocalypse asks what defines a AAA game...
"What the hell is a AAA game, and how the hell do you judge whether or not a game is worthy of such a lofty title. I started asking the very same question of myself after listening to this week’s Weekend Confirmed Podcast. It seems to me that the title of AAA is bestowed upon a few ultra popular games..."

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
AAA refers to the quality, and generally means "Best Quality" or "Of the Highest Quality"
AAA has nothing to do with popularity, it is simply a very high standard. A AAA game is a game that is generally scored with very high marks. 90+ at meta is considered a very high scoring game. (AAA)
You really cant rate a game with AAA status until it is finished and judged. Game developers like to say that they are making AAA games because they have a large development budget, but neither the budget or the sales have anything to do with the overall quality of a completed game.
AAA is used on alot of things other than video games, such as movies/The quality of loans/credit ratings ect.
Apparently all exclusives are AAA and the best in their genre.
fanboyism ruined gaming. The internet ruins the social atmosphere in general, which is weird because people thought it would improve it. So many pricks and crazy people get to voice their opinions and that makes everybody look bad and people take sides.
What a coincidence. I just wrote an open letter regarding... Winning.
Nowadays AAA are the most hyped games that fails to reach the expectation 90% of times.
In terms of quality, i think UC,Demons souls, witcher, skyrim, diablo,st arcraft, bioshock, assassin's creed etc. should be regarded as AAA as even the most sadists can't argue the quality of this games.
