Scratch What I Said About Mass Effect DLC

Unreality Mag: "So I probably should have held off my rant against Bioware yesterday until I actually finished playing all their DLC offerings. While I still don’t believe in making DLC before your game is out, preorder or new game bonuses, or two rooms of enemies masquerading as a new mission, I have to say that in some regards, the company does know how to do it right."

you and most other "journalists" these days

evrfighter5553d ago

EA must have threatened to cut off his freebies

teething5553d ago

I doubt that, but this is an example of an unprofessional "writer" spouting off about something before giving it a proper chance.

Same thing is happening with all the gamers who gave Dragon Age 2 a 1/10 on metacritic because you are stuck with 3rd person perspective without zooming out option. This is an option that was not in DAO on consoles, and the reviews were for the 360/PS3 versions.

unrealgamer585553d ago

No one gave a damn about you're opinion the first time. LOL XD

DeFFeR5553d ago

Probably a "journalistic" tactic to get more page hits by making people go look at the first offering.

The internet is turning into MySpace - so much legitimate garbage, and also garbage with "pretty" window treatment so we think "eh - it doesn't look THAT bad..." until you actually get into it...

Son_Lee5553d ago

This is what game journalism has come to these days. People bashing companies when they haven't even finished what they're supposed to be reviewing or basing their opinions on. Hey, rookie, here's some advice for next time: finish what you start before you bash something, even if your opinion doesn't change. Because otherwise, you will NEVER be credible EVER.

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast532d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine532d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast532d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman532d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast532d ago

2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave780d ago (Edited 780d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
