The first company to admit they're beating their franchises into the ground? Probably. Capcom's seen what's happened to Activision's reputation, and they're at least -saying- they'll do something to avoid taking anymore hits themselves.

Jason Dietz: "We reveal the past year's best and worst video game publishers (based on their 2025 releases) in the 16th edition of our annual Game Publisher Rankings."
But... but... the garbage-mongers always tell us that Square Enix is in trouble! 😂

Capcom has clarified its current stance on generative AI in its videogames. The major Japanese publisher and developer behind popular series like Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter has revealed that while it doesn't use gen-AI assets in their games, it is exploring ways to use generative AI to streamline the game development process.
Using Artificial Intelligence (more like Realistic Stupidity) art assets in your games is a great way to get people to boycott your product. We don't need that ugly, unsophisticated, generic, fake art in our games, good on CAPCOM for not using that garbage.
Naw you can't fool us, You work with Nvidia, that's a fact! And here you wanted to advertise but now look stupid!
actually a smart idea. if you really think about it, its not economically viable to have a new game in a series every year except for sports games, because it will diminish the ip, lower the quality ,and the sales eventually drop. key example is guitar hero, where activision created so many versions that they drove into the ground. I know some may say look at cod, which apparently a new game is released every year, but i think the drop off point for that series is much higher. look cod bo was less critically received than mw2 so already you can see the quality decreasing, its just a matter of time before the cod series start to drop off.
Give THQ back moto gp you murders.
Nintendo needs to do the same with Mario, they have worn that franchise and mascot way too thin. The only game that haven't invented yet is "Mario eats tacos".
Seriously.....they rely too much on that IP and oversight other things to me. Yes, the Mario games are a great franchise, but its time to move on and get creative instead of trying to reinvent the wheel with this character.
rest everything then
Wiat, WHAT?!?!?!?
Unbelievable!
