Shogun 2 won’t have DirectX 11 support at launch

The Creative Assembly this morning said that Total War: Shogun 2 won’t have DirectX 11 support out of the box. The feature is being held back for testing while the development team works to improve performance on DirectX 11 cards. The plan is to patch DirectX 11 support back into the game two to four weeks after release.

probably because Nvidia cards are struggling so much with DA2 on DX11, i know first hand have a gtx 460 and getting single digit frames on very high settings.

really that was the card i was planning on putting in my new pc that im trying to get the funds for :/

I'm having the same issue on dual SLI GTX480s. ATI cards are fine apparently. Hopefully Nvidia can release a patch/driver update soon to fix the issue.

Its driver issues probably, GTX 460 is a solid card.

My smaller brother has 5870 CF he had not updated drivers in the last few months, yesterday we tried Crysis 2 demo on his PC. the game was running in slide shows at max settings. One driver update and everything got fixed.

DA2 is a new game, wait for a driver update things will get fixed.

You may still get it. I just got mine, it is a hell of a card. This is probably a driver problem. Nvidia will fix this, they always fix their stuff.

Thats disappointing, kind of suggests the game is not quite finished and they are rushing the release.

Im going to wait for the patch to be released before purchasing.

Why do I even bother buying games anymore when they are given out free 9 years later.

Patience has never been more lucrative. No seriously I never played a Total War game I am happy to be allowed to try this for free.

You'd think they'd put a link to the steam page in the article, but strangely the only link I could find was to the metacritic page.
