
I just want to preface this by saying that I have never been a fan of button-mashing fighting games. That is, never been a fan until now. I have played Mortal Kombat in its past incarnations: from arcade versions to consoles. But, I must say that playing the Mortal Kombat demo, recently released for Playstation Plus subscribers on the PS3, has made me a believer in MK.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

I do hope the next MK iteration goes back to the core of what made these characters appeal in the first place. A few of them lost their edge - I think I've had enough with some of the auntie designs 😂

I really enjoyed the new one too. It felt like a cross between classic Mortal Kombat and Tekken, almost. It played well.
