Who cares anyway? This won't prove nothing. They just need to adjust the contrast before making any comparisons.

bozebo5557d ago

yeah I know what you mean. But the helmet in the first screen is certainly showing a difference in the bloom.

The general white-washed look on the 360 is obviously image manipulation or them not bothering to adjust for different capture methods. (loads of sites do that to deliberately make the ps3 look worse, I think they are doing it out of spite because the 360 is unpopular in eu/germany etc)

HarryMonogenis5557d ago (Edited 5557d ago )

First of all, Germany is in the EU. Secondly, the Xbox 360 isn't unpopular in Europe -- not at all.

The only people I know say that are, wait for it, people OUTSIDE the EU.

I've just taken a glance at those screenshots, and it's become immediately clear to me that they have been manipulated.

SeanRL5557d ago

On a side note, who else thought the demo sucked?

Highlife5557d ago

Agree fight two seconds cut scene fight two seconds cut scene. Rinse and repeat. Everything sucked about that demo.

bozebo5557d ago

what the fuck?
when did I say germany isn't in the eu?

go die you troll idiot

jack_burt0n5557d ago

The 360 version has serious framerate issues throughout the game, you might not end up getting a proper comparison from lens of crap and eurogamer because its such a bad issue.

Just letting ppl know.

Theonik5557d ago

The "White washed look" on the 360 is possibly because of MS manipulating the 360's output to be more shitty TV friendly. This is a well documented fact, devs are provided with a colour conversion table of course.

@HarryMonogenis
This depends strictly on which country you are referring to.

Textures and AA are better on the 360 this time around. Weird. I figured the PS3 would have the upper hand like last time.

All you have to do to prove this is use the windows magnifier glass thingy and view the pictures at full size. The jaggies and texture quality are clearly better on the 360.

Disagree all you want. But it doesn't change the facts.

stonecold35557d ago

if you look at the leg on the statue it shows more of it legs than the 360 version but everything else looks the same

Highlife5557d ago

So now it is down to a magnifier to see diferences. If that is the case who the hell cares.

bozebo5557d ago (Edited 5557d ago )

the AA looks better on ps3 and texture res looks exactly the same

The facts have not been changed by your idiocy

highlife, he means the magnifier thingy to allow him to scroll the view on the image 1 to 1 mapped not view it scaled down.

The only real difference between the two is they have some kind of extra post processing shader enabled on the ps3 that does bloom.

The game looks like ass anyway

hackersdelight5557d ago

Why the hell do they need to adjust contrast. Thats manipulating the image. Anyway, its been proven that developers intentionally make the Xbox 360 version look darker in contrast. Read this article.

What is, so STUNNING about a screenshot comparison???

DelbertGrady5557d ago

Nothing. It's just a trick elchficker.de uses to get more hits.

hay5557d ago

Especially since Dragon Age II visuals aren't stunning at all.

bozebo5557d ago

they both look like ps2 games tbh

The colouring and bloom looks nicer on the ps3 version (not entirely sure why because the 360 would have no problem handling it at all)

Bioware need some better graphics programmers, really. (mass effect only looks good because it is in the unreal engine, duh)

Baka-akaB5557d ago (Edited 5557d ago )

would people stop using that incredibly idiotic line ?

If the ps2 looked like that it would still be around dominating .

As for the second part of the argument , i also find it ridiculous . The design work in me1 and 2 was outstanding , bare issues with modelling one actress .

Most unreal engine games used to look the same and rather generic till stuff like ME and bioshock came along , and started using something else than grey , brown and washed up colors

Imalwaysright5557d ago

The only reason why PS2 isnt dominating is because there arent new high profile games made for it anymore. It doesnt have anything to to with the hardware power.

bozebo5557d ago (Edited 5557d ago )

@baka

that line? it's called exaggeration

stop going around looking for reasons to think things people say are ridiculous because clearly you have a problem that needs some attention

graphics programmers have nothing to do with 3d modelling etc, they make the rendering engine (which is handled by unreal for mass effect and their own programmers in the crappy looking dragon age, hence why they need better ones)

BLACKBOIJONES5557d ago

Oh pls give me a break comparing alL this multiplat games...Let them use the PS3 power and the 360 power and compare then we will c who is really the winner...And we all know its the PS3...not comparing a lame pot.

Droid Control5557d ago

PS3 has the edge, but to be honest, both games look like crap. They look lik XBox 1 games.

This is unforgiveable.
Bioware need to tep up the graphics in a big way.

Twilightx75557d ago

Somebody obviously hasn't played an Xbox 1 game recently.

SnakeMustDie5557d ago

Don't tell me that the graphics on Xbox 1 games are better.

Izanagi-no-Okami5557d ago

Strange because Mass Effect looks miles better. But i think the amount of detail that Dragon Age has (forests, cities, etc) isn't the same that Mass Effect has, where everything is squared, if you know what i mean.

maxcer5557d ago

@ Droid Control

your post is almost as idiotic as the one above that sates it look like a ps2 game.

Dragon Age Lead Says Including World State Reactivity Felt Like It Was "Irrelevant Or Not Enough"

Dragon Age 2 set the precedent that the series would always carry our choices over, but was it worth it?

If the choices won't matter, why bother? Bioware works so hard at giving meaningful choices but rarely if ever carrying out the impact of such choices to the end.

EA Made Dragon Age and Mass Effect DLC Free On PC By Retiring The BioWare Points System

Immersed Gamer writes: "In order to replace the oppressive BioWare Points system, EA is making a large portion of the Mass Effect and Dragon Age DLC catalogs free for PC users.

For those of you blissfully unaware, EA and BioWare employed a payment system called BioWare Points on PC to pay for DLCs for titles like Mass Effect and Dragon Age. While PC gamers have been struggling with BioWare point’s unfair conversion rates and extremely scarce and cost-detrimental sales.

Console players have been allowed to purchase content in pieces through the appropriate Sony and Microsoft shops. For real money, and not BioWare monopoly bucks. In turn, console players missed out on some DLC content, such as Mass Effect 2 pre-order bonuses that have been repackaged into a DLC pack."

Great response to Ubisoft and their disgusting behavior. Ubisoft decide to take away DLC from people who paid for it, while EA give it for free to everyone when they realize their system sucks. Who would have thought that EA of all companies would be showing Ubisoft how it should be done (even if this is EA fixing their own mistakes as well).

Mobis-New-Nest1410d ago

What goes around comes around and I promise you, Ubisoft will see their actions blow back on them when their diminishing sales numbers and stock taking a hit downward. That's the only way a company learns when they decide to be reactive instead of proactive.

All BioWare Games Ranked from Worst to Best

BLG writes: "There was a time that BioWare games were the biggest deal in gaming. The Canadian developer’s legacy of all-time classics is well known. Mass Effect, Knights of the Old Republic, and Baldur’s Gate are some of the biggest names in gaming.

While BioWare’s quality has fallen off lately, there’s no denying the quality of titles in their portfolio. That’s why we’re going to dive in and rank every BioWare game from worst to best. By every, I do mean every BioWare game, even the ones you completely forgot about!"

Ranked from worse to even more worse more like, they been on free fall for a fair few years now and I personally don't think any of there earlier games have aged well

autobotdan1569d ago

Wow to think at one point in their history they made a Sonic the Hedgehog game..crazy

chicken_in_the_corn1569d ago

Anthem is crazy underrated. I really enjoyed it. ME1 is Bioware's best imo

I actually put quite a bit of hours into Anthem but i dont think its underrated. It was a huge mess, server issues, gameplay issues, crashes, no endgame loop, too few different enemies, uninteresting gear. too few dungeons.

It for sure had potential and if they could have managed to keep the same gameplay of the classes but without the rest of the issues, this game could have been huge, but in the state in which it launched it was such a letdown. They partly fixed some of the issues, but it took too long. A grinding game like this needs to hook players from day 1.
