Midnight openings and in-store incentives instrumental in MMO success, says NCsoft.
The rise in digital distribution won’t bring an end to PC games retail – it will just change its function, according to NCsoft.
The MMO publisher – whose titles include City of Heroes, Aion, Lineage and the upcoming Guild Wars 2 – claims bricks-and-mortar stores will always serve a purpose when releasing games on PC, even if it isn’t necessarily to drive the bulk of a game’s sales.

TNS - NCSoft CEO admitted that AI is rapidly becoming a core part of game development, but he added that it cannot replace what makes games fun.
To be fair, there are also human made games that release and lack any fun at all either.
Guild Wars 2 been playing for 14yrs, 1st beta. This is just one company I support, Arenanet and NCSoft, even though I torrent, there are a few PC companies I will buy from. "PlayStation’s Horizon MMO spin-off, Horizon Steel Frontiers." I feel this will be good, NCSoft is a good developer/publisher.
It’s a tool. Use it elevate things and get it done faster. I’m sorry but not every game made by humans is good. If this can help things, then I fully embrace it.

Most retailers just promote XBOX 360 and the Wii which is not a bad thing. Most PC gamers just download games from Steam just because of value for money compared to retailers.
truer words have never been spoken
i love NC Soft games. It is weird how retailers do push 360 and wii but i dont rarely see PC games or ps3 games as much. Like in most of my gamestops the PC section is like the sad neglected cousin all baron and no adverts.
like they assume all PC gamers know what there gonna buy so why advertise.
I download everything through Steam except Blizzard games..just easier and less hassle.
No thanks. Retail is the reason content is stripped from games and given only to certain retailers to drive sales at that specific place.
