For the most part, Killzone 3 doesn't try to re-invent the FPS: instead, like so many others, it does its best to deliver a unique experience in a setting rife with possibilities and tricks to keep the player's adrenaline pounding through every firefight. In this respect, it succeeds in the same way that Halo's does turning its moments into memorable set pieces arrayed against impossible odds. From start to finish, this was one fight worth every spent bullet casing.
But it isn't perfect, either.

As PlayStation celebrates its 30th anniversary, let's explore the best PlayStation games Sony has to offer.
There's too many games to choose from
No Metal geat solid 1,2,3,4?
No Resident evil?
No Silent hill?
No Midnight club 3?
No NfS Underground 2?
No Final Fantasy?
No Burnout 3?
No Dragon quest 8?
No Days gone?
No Ace combat?
No Tekken/Soul calibur?......
just from the top of my head
PS1 era was full of great RPGs, PS2 was racing generation i would pick top 200 and even that would be just a fraction.
The Amsterdam-based studio reflects on its humble beginnings, beloved franchises, and growth through the years.
Up there with the top tier in the industry. Love Guerrilla Games - Horizon Burning Shores is simply STUNNING.
32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III
Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.
I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.
Such a wonderful studio. They deserve all their success.
The Decima Engine is absolute 🔥 I'm just mad they have abandoned Killzone.
DSOGaming writes: "While Sony does not plan to release Killzone 3 on the PC, Yahfz shared a video that gives us a glimpse at what such a PC version could look like."
PC almost always ends up the best place to play games, even if it takes a while.
What would you rather play decades down the line? A game at a fixed resolution and frame, considering you have a working disc, and the hardware?
Or run it on an emulator that can update the experience all around, and let you use whatever control input you prefer?
If you insist on the former, it's really only for the sake of nostalgia.
The RPCS3 devs are doing great work. And Kami works nicely with it too it seems.
Very neat.
This guy is being a fanboy. This game is perfect. The single-player is nice and long. The multiplayer is really fun and addicting so this guy needs to keep his mouth shut.
Good article. KZ3 is an excellent game but it does have some flaws. Such as...
-Only 3 Operations maps. 3 really?? Being my favorite game mode its severely disappointing theres only 3 maps. But same for the other modes as well. Why is there no Kaznan Jungle and Blood Gracht Warzone maps, as well as Turbine Concourse, Corinth Highway, and MAWLR Graveyard for Guerilla Warfare?? They're doing it just like BFBC2 and MoH and its really annoying.
-The cover system in sp doesn't work. Playing through Elite you can't use the cover system at all otherwise they just keep shooting you in the head.
There were a few others, but I can't remember em at the moment. Like I said its still a great game and after I write this I'm getting back on it.
Unlike the author I thought the ending was very well done (the cutscenes, not the battle). It opens up a ton of directions for where the story can go and I can't wait to play KZ4 because of it.
Oh and for everyone that keeps thinking the ISA are the 'good guys'. The ISA banished the Helghast off of their home planet Veda and onto a planet (Helghan) that was at first uninhabitable. It is the ISA's fault the Helghast became who they were. I actually feel bad for the Helghast and hope that they destroy the ISA. The ending makes me think that KZ4 will take place on Veda and/or Earth, which I can't wait for.
Oh and they are adding/fixing a ton of things in the next patch so look out for that.
what i hate is people abusing good grief button it got me banned because some guy in my team talking trash to them in the other team i get blamed for it
I'm still struggling to get through KZ3 single player. Not because its so difficult but because its so incredibly dull. Visually its stunning as are the sound effects however, although the story is ok there is just nothing exciting or new about the gameplay. Its not quite paint by numbers but its not far from it.
Where was an epic Stalingrad style battle where you felt like you were up against thousands of enemy soldiers. Where was the AI that made you feel like you were fighting an intelligent enemy. Where was the stealth mission that actually tops the one in COD4! Honestly, the enemy is as dumb as a brick $hit house when it can't eve see you crawling through a thin band of grass. You can't even crawl so your head must have been sticking up over the grass for goodness sake.
Finally, when are you going to unlock a difficulty setting where it actually changes the nature of the game. Higher difficulties typically mean your health depletes faster and the enemies take more hits. How about harder difficulties mean tougher AI, less ammo, more enemy, changes in the game like having to play through extra parts of a level because the easier path is closed off. (NB: I watched my Son play through on the hardest difficulty and could not believe how little it changed in terms of difficulty).
Its by no means a flop or bad game but it simply offers nothing new.
I see so many people complain about how KZ does not have good weapon tech. If they knew the back story to why it is that way maybe then less peeps will complain.
WW3 happened in the KZ universe and after that war they focused on space technology so they could leave earth. Which is why they have so much space stuff in KZ instead of super high tech weapons. In KZ2 and KZ3 you see the helghast making high tech weapons.
@WarPrincess
No game is perfect.
