I didn't even know he was still doing anything in the games industry.

And knowing is half the battle.

DOOM Creator’s Romero Games’ Next Unannounced Project Has Been Cancelled

Romero Games Ltd. "We have some difficult news to share. Last night, we learned that our publisher has canceled funding for our game along with several other unannounced projects at other studios. This was a strategic decision made at a high level within the publisher, well above our visibility or control. We deeply wish there had been something, anything, we could have done to prevent this outcome."

That's sad to hear. I liked Empire of Sin despite the problems it had at launch.

Same, very underrated game I think

Not even the legendary co-creator of Doom is spared from Microsoft's stupidity and wraith.

They spent billions to acquire talent and studios, but failed to put the right management in place to ensure success. Microsoft isn't the first company to make this mistake, and they won't be the last. The truth is, the gaming industry we once knew is gone. It’s no longer about creativity, passion, or listening to fans—it’s about spreadsheets, quarterly reports, and decisions made to satisfy shareholders, not gamers.

We’re watching the soul of an art form get hollowed out by corporate greed and staggering mismanagement. It's almost absurd that a $3 trillion company can't even manage its gaming division properly.

This is the system we live in—one where corporations exist to serve executives and shareholders at the expense of workers and consumers. Look at the recent legislation that just passed: it benefits high earners while hurting those already struggling. Have we really forgotten so quickly what the pandemic taught us? When the world was forced to pause, there was a brief moment of clarity—of empathy. And yet here we are again, racing back into the arms of greed and self-interest.

I had hoped COVID would shift our values—make us kinder, more communal. But for 99.9% of people, it seems money still matters most

Well said, I just wish you'd written it yourself without Chat GPT writing it for you. It makes your statements lose impact and come off as trite.

Don't show this to the people, or to Obscure, who said Matt Booty was the second coming of gaming.

Every single word is mine. But English isn't my first language so I do use some software to make sure points come across and clean/easy to read and understand . But none of this is Ai generated

I am a very opinionated person so I usually right a lot of stuff using voice typing to fix it later. No a single word in that text came from AI

He has disappeared from this site over the past 24 hours. Man the way he champions Xbox is nothing short of just astounding. No one should believe in a brand or corporation like that. He was saying how perfect dark looks legit and how he was right all along. But if you go ti any Xbox only YouTube channel you can see how people still defend all these moves. It's like they are living a bubble refusing to believe reality

Seems like most investors are putting a lot of
money into A.I. . Sad to hear that more game developers are getting laid off .
