When Dead Space came out in 2008 it was crushed under critical appraisal for the title. It was heralded as a return to true survival horror gameplay. So with the sequel coming out a little over a month ago, what’s changed and did Dead Space get even better?

EA has shut down rumors that EA Motive considered a Dead Space 2 remake before shelving it due to low sales of the previous game, saying there's "no validity" to the reports.
Why not remake DS2 whether shot down or not it's still my favorite game next to DS1. As much as I hate EA I would buy or would have bought DS2 day one.
No validity XD "Guys guys, we cant possible make a good game or cater to the gamers wants, stop"
I don't know if sales met their expectations or not. I just know that the high review scores received my attention so I was interested in buying it, but its price stayed high (50+ bucks) for so long that I simply never bothered picking it up.

Nameer from eXputer: "Dead Space 2 is a sequel that delivers such a feast that by the time you're done, you're not only full but also satisfied."
Hope they remake this one too. Just like they did with number 1. The remake of Dead Space 1 was perfection
thanks to the digital pass for it it was not perfect..in fact its difficult to find a working copy since many years.

Battlefield Bad Company 2, Dead Space 2, Crysis 3, and a handful other EA games have finally had their online services shut down.
I had no idea that Bad Company 2 was still running, and only now that I know, I want to jump on! 😥
BF1943 is the only online MP game that I was genuinely interested in. Been playing since launch 14 years ago. Hate that I couldn't put in as much time to play as I'd hoped for during the final week.
Dead Space 2...... I wasn't even aware that had multiplayer. Nevermind that it was apparently one of their best multiplayers!
Dead Space 2 multiplayer had been hanging on for years - I'd boot my PS3 up to see some familiar names in lobbies. This will definitely be missed!
I hated this game.. mainly because of all the hype about it being "scary and immersive"
In reality constant death and over the top death sequences broke the immersion for me and made it more comedic.
This (for me) is the best series this generation on any platform.
I have generally disliked this game. I didn't get on too well with the first one. The controls were a bit odd on the xbox for my liking, and he moves a little too slow too. I have noticed a few improvements though. However, i'm branching into PC gaming more so i'll give it a go on there, and then maybe i'll enjoy it more. Who knows
This about the score I'd give it. I quite liked the first half of it but it dragged a lot towards the end and overall just felt... like a game, y'know, nothing majorly wrong with it but impossible to get excited about.
I reached the point where I was pretty much wishing under my breath that there wouldn't be another room full of enemies around the next corner. Not because they were still scaring me by that point, not because I didn't feel like I'd be able to get past them, just because I was so fucking sick of having to deal with them it had become a major pain.
I'm not sure how much of this is the game though and how much is just me. At the moment all the games coming out just feel like a grey blur to me.
id give this game a 7.5 - 8. I dont like how there is no choice whatsoever... this game could not be more of a corridor shooter if it tried. You arent offered a single choice of WHERE you want to go. There is only 1 path to every objective. it has cool weapons so thats good, and enemies are scary so thats also a plus. But yeah... Really small environments and cant even compare to graphics of KZ3 or some of the other games out there. And thats with corridor shooting environments... its not like its big massive places. Really cramped...
But im enjoying it overall... I got it as a gift but im glad i have at least 1 deadspace game in my collection. im a horror fan and a scifi fan so this is a good choice for me.
