Phantasy Star online (like Dreamcast Days)= Yummmy. it looks like most, if not all Japanese developers gives the NGP thumbs up. they all agree though they want a launch price that will entice people to buy one, not another 599USD situation.

Retail however, is pretty surprising. 39% would want the ngp, LOL wat?

This has interested me though:
"Hiroshi Maruyama (CyberConnect2)

For CC2, the big point is the high specifications. He's very happy that they'll be able to use the knowhow they've gained from working with HD consoles. If CC2 were to make NGP software, they'd want to make something that would surprise players visually.

On price, he wants ¥29,800, but said it could end up being ¥39,800. Whatever the price, he's going to buy it."

i would like to see what CC2 would do on this. mainly because of the visuals of Naruto:Ultimate ninja storm. so anime like...

Im so excited to see many developers excited about the NGP. The NGP is gone to be amazing.

Been saying this since it was released this system could be a game changer. It has all that is needed to be a serious threat to every gaming device on the market. Sony get the price right. Plus get the 3G questions answered sooner rather than later so that people are aware and prepared of the additional costs if there are any.

what square needs to do is make a crono trigger sequel, a sequel to type zero, ect

Retail however, is pretty surprising. 39% would want the ngp isnt suprising since its going to be very expensive and the 3ds is selling out at a pace never seen before in system launches.

@ below.

A real sequel. And yes I know about the trademarks but they mean nothing if the games arent made

Guess what you miss when you where in your cave?

Also, chrono trigger sequel has been out for 11 years and it's called chrono cross. It was released for the psone.

SuperStrokey11235546d ago

Chrono Cross isnt a true sequel persay.

offdawall5546d ago

im very interested in ngp , but just like all PS products this gen , the media will bash it to hell

strickers5546d ago

I agree.Part of the problems it faces are nothing to do with hardware quality but just being out of fashion.
If this was an Apple product,it would do less stuff and yet the world would be wetting it's pants.
People are idiots and keep ruining it for the rest of us.

"The feature first began with some analysis of the hardware from Zenji Nishikawa, who's known for his technical articles at Impress Watch.

Nishikawa noted that for the system's GPU and CPU, Sony appears to be taking the exact opposite approach from the PS3, making use of existing technology. This gives them advantages both in terms of cost and allowing programmers be experienced with the architecture.

Overall, Nishikawa feels that rather than offering games with super high quality PS3-level visuals, the NGP's focus is on offering new experiences through its variety of input devices. He said that the price could be in the ¥25,000 range (this is the same price as the 3DS)"

THIS I think is the real key this time, the cost of the NGP itself will infact be lower than many people think it will be, the reason is the cost in reduction for these chip's in it's scale is very cost effective.

many companies have access to the same chip's so the cost reduction's are not just by one company they pretty much all benefit.

SN Systems, provider of development tools for Sony Computer Entertainment, today announced that is has started distributing tools for the Sony NGP gaming device.

The company has stated that "the tools are easy to setup and offer extensive functionality from launch". The software development environment is available to all game developers registered with Sony.

The tools include the ProDG Debugger, featuring full integration with Visual Studio, and the SNC Toolchain, which currently acts as the default compiler for both PlayStation 3 and PSP.

SN Systems tools are available for demonstration at GDC this week, and private meetings with the engineers from the various product teams can also be arranged.

The firm was originally founded in 1988, and eventually acquired in 2005 by Sony to provide tools for its PlayStation 3 console.

the support for Sony's new NGP is quite heavy an with such tool's ready there will be many games made for this handheld it look's like it do to the fact that develope's can use existing Middleware, an tool chains common in the industry without costing the developer more money than they would like, also since the Hardware is also industry standard the development time will be reduced.

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle8d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted
