who needs this game. i played the clive barker's jericho demo. and this game powns bioshock in every aspect. far better graphics, far better gameplay, far better atmoshpere. there are far better games coming than this overhyped game.

and yea Jericho struck me as very simular to what Bio Shock did and in what HS kinda did. The made a game feel like a movie and they made it work. The three games i mentioned are just the start of games taking parts of what movies do and making it rule!

Bio Shock and HS have set the bar high for movie type games and i look 4ward to seeing ppl try and top those two great movie games!

Too bad for Sony, Bioshock is exactly what they need for their system ie. a decent game.

I haven't played the Xbox 360 since I got my PS3 2 months ago, but Halo 3 and Bioshock are 2 titles that would sway me back to my 360 eventually. Although, I do have a problem with MS's business tactics. Competition is good for gamers!!!

I thought this game was another over rated shooter. I enjoyed it but I have noticed some serious negative backlash because the game is another great game for the XBOX360.

Too bad the PS3 core audience is not focusing on there own games this much because games like Uncharted just mite get over looked while more 360 games get free publicity from all the haters.

it's the nice cover and shoot system that gow had, it has great gameplay fighting mechanics, and it has some prince of persia feel to it.

Still h8 to see these exclusives all over espicially on games that can b played on both systems...

Whilst Microsoft are ahead on sales this plan can / will work. But if the combined sales of the PS3 and Wii grow large enough, Microsoft will force the developers to chose between developement for the 360 or the PS3 and the Wii.

Bioshock is a truly awesome game. Not just the graphics either. Everything about the way the game is presented is perfect. The controls are perfect too. It plays so intuitively that I can pull off great moves even when I'm panicking!

Microsoft is doing the right thing by keeping Bioshock as yet another AAA exclusive. Hopefully Bioshock 2 is in the works!

games. yes i know they made one for gamecube. and the xbox (which sold horrbily) but sony tries to keep games that were normally on there system first. and haze is not ps3 exclusive. and bioshock was originally in development for ps3 but microsoft PAYS PEOPLE TO STOP WORKING ON IT AND FOCUS ON THE 360. I am huge playstation fan I have 9 ps3 games and I play it everyday. But there is no reason for this to go on ps3. If it does its great;however, this game is on PS3 and while most games are better on the consoles this is not the case for Bioshock. If you have a pc there is no reason why you should not this game unless of course your comp sucks. This game is 9000 times better on the pc.

Because if it had not been for Sony throwing bushels of money at the likes of Eidos, Square, and Konami there would probably be no Sony. i played bioshock and i didnt have to pay 1$ i have my own tricks!!!!
its good but believe me its not thats great like how they say!!! the story is not that good and the worst thing in the game is the reloading!!
imagine every weaponed u have it has like 5 or 6 round and when they finish u have to reload and by the time u reloaded u are already dead!!
but other then that its great game!

Is anyone else disheartened about this practice? I plan on getting a 360 and all, but the fact that Microsoft is literally just shelling out money to keep exclusive rights on just about everything seems to be a little crappy to the gaming scene as a whole. I understand developers keeping software off of the PS3 due to the lower sales rates (compared to other current-gen consoles), but when a company with a hell of a lot of money starts paying off publishing companies for exclusives, is that really fair to the gaming scene? What do you think?

Why does everyone call it a Pay-off. The way to make sure that great games come to your console and make your fans happy is to offer what all companies and people are working for...MONEY. Sony, needs to get out of the mentality "We do not pay for exclusives"! What, thats what made the PS1 and PS2 great. As a PS3 owner I want them not to let so many exclusives slip through their fingers, the likes of, GTA series, DMC 4, etc. Sony needs to get hungry again. A price drop for the console will not do much, becuase MS will only drop the 360 even more. PS3 needs a constant flow of good games. I know games like Uncharted, Rachet and Clank, LBP, etc are sceduled this year, but there have been delay after delay. No not uh there are games coming out later this year. They should have been here. PS3 and Sony loyal deserve more (especially the ones with only on console). The graphics are great now and will only get better, I do not care if you beat Nintendo or MS, I do not care if the PS3 is the most powerful console to date, I do not care if it has a life cycle of 10 years. Sony you promised "The Best" the whole time the PS3 was in development and at lauch and ater the launch. We did not expect to have to wait. Disagree if you want, but I know must of you feel about the same.

It is also ironic and to me, quite funny that in this same EGM is an explanation of why and how exclusive deals come about. Here is some info that is sure to make fanboys on all sides furious.

One item making the interwebs rounds this week was the scandalous revelation that Halo 3 runs at “640p” which isn’t even technically a resolution. However, the interweb detectives did notice that Halo 3’s vertical resolution, when captured from a frame buffer, is indeed 640 pixels. So what gives? Did we short change you 80 pixels?

Naturally it’s more complicated than that. In fact, you could argue we gave you 1280 pixels of vertical resolution, since Halo 3 uses not one, but two frame buffers – both of which render at 1152x640 pixels. The reason we chose this slightly unorthodox resolution and this very complex use of two buffers is simple enough to see – lighting. We wanted to preserve as much dynamic range as possible – so we use one for the high dynamic range and one for the low dynamic range values. Both are combined to create the finished on screen image.

This ability to display a full range of HDR, combined with our advanced lighting, material and postprocessing engine, gives our scenes, large and small, a compelling, convincing and ultimately “real” feeling, and at a steady and smooth frame rate, which in the end was far more important to us than the ability to display a few extra pixels. Making this decision simpler still is the fact that the 360 scales the
“almost-720p” image effortlessly all the way up to 1080p if you so desire.

In fact, if you do a comparison shot between the native 1152x640 image and the scaled 1280x720, it’s practically impossible to discern the difference. personally, im not intrigued about bioshock anymore.. the spoilers were basically everywhere.. the big daddy/little sister relationship analysis everywhere in the reviews lessened the urge for me to wanna play this gamee and see what all the "morality" issues were about and whatever.. and the only bosses are the big daddys.. meh

Stop making films and start making series. You cannot cover this game in a 2 hour movie. Also the only live action adaptation worth watching was Yu Yu and One Piece, I can only trust in Netflix absolutely butchering this.
