IGN: Testing Out Brink

IGN: It's been a long road for developer Splash Damage to get to Brink. Spawned from the PC mod community, Splash Damage grabbed everyone's attention with the Enemy Territory multiplayer expansion to the 2001 Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

Ever played a SplashDamage game?

Among the sea of FPS games, Brink is the game I'm most anxious about in terms of multiplayer for 2011.

i think the SMART system and the character creation / classes make this game stand out - alot

Brink looks very good.

Some of the guys that worked on Killzone 2 are doing Brink, I think the lead map designer is one of them

I probably shouldn't be saying this but f*** it. I was in the beta on the PS3 and the game has the potential to be HUGE. The balance is good, the game looks and sounds beautiful, you never feel lost or confused, the combination of character size, character class and character abilities gives you loads options about how you want to play the game. The only complaints I had was the weapons had a tad too much spread and the respawn time in certain situations was slightly too long.

The guns have too much spread? That's good to hear for me because any game that has more spread than COD would be too much for most people. KZ2 had a good amount of recoil and spread, but they reduced it KZ3 to appeal to causal crowd.

Anyways BRINK having too much spread is good since you can customize your weapons to have less. And you also said it is very balanced which is also good to hear. I was looking forward to KZ3, but the classes were unbalanced, so now I'm looking forward to BRINK since in a lot of the developer interviews balance seems to be one of their major priorities.

I'm glad to hear a beta tester confirming things especially one that tested the PS3 version of the game.

I can't wait for May.
