At least there’s co-op to experience the world with a friend/family member if we choose!

Wait is this online only or is there local option / splitscreen as well?

Skate-AK2013d ago

No local split screen. Online only. They would probably have the scale the game way back to have two instances of it playing on one console. Since it is an open-world RPG, I assume two people can be in different places at once and that would likely fry the consoles.

anonymousfan2013d ago

@Skate-AK makes sense thanks

Inverno2013d ago

that's dumb, imagine the possibilities of all 4 going off in different directions in Gotham. Missions where theres multiple threats and you hafto split up in group of twos or taking something on in complete stealth everyone working in unison picking out baddies one by one, causin distractions and performing cooperative stealth take downs

There you go ... it's not GaaS.

Nor would/should someone expect a two-player game (at most) be a live service game. The reaction was from ridiculous triggered folk that think "anything co-op = everything bad".

It's even worse that this is only the second or third game coming to next-gen where they announce it with an actual genuine gameplay demo. Why would developers market their games with demos only to be harassed over people who make up controversy in their heads and condemn the games based on false, imaginary info?

toxic-inferno2014d ago

I agree completely. But the reason people make up the controversies is because we as gamers have been stung before, and we're trying to curb our expectations.

Gotham Knights does have that feel of "too good to be true". But that's an exciting prospect; in this case, it looks like it may ACTUALLY be that good!

L7CHAPEL2014d ago

I must have fought with 20 different people over this.
there's a real element that's quite virulent about judging something before they even have information. first thing out of their mouth, like was stated is: its co-op so it must be games as service,
the only thing they want to play is Spider-Man/bloodborne /God of war/single player /expect to have all DLC included in the game price,
absolutely no cosmetics or microtransactions whatsoever.
(even if it's completely optional and doesn't affect gameplay at all, there will always be those developers/ publishers who abuse)
I get the grinding versus loot box bullshit, and I also get single player games loaded with microtransactions being a bad thing.
but the knee-jerk response where they spread this black plague attitude before you even have all the particulars, is way out of hand...
and I think you know the crowd I'm talking about.
positive or negative word of mouth does a lot more harm than people think, and then jumping down the throat of developers the moment something is announced isn't going to do anything to help gaming.
it's what makes them so weary to try new things not everything's going to be a game you personally are going to want prefer or play,
that doesn't mean you need to try and destroy it the moment it's announced.

It answered mine, no Kal-El game no dinero from me

Abnor_Mal2014d ago

Wait, you want Supes to be in a game based in Gotham, and is called Gotham Knights. That's like expecting Bats to be in a game thats Metropolis centric and called Metropolis Heroes or some such.

Hey, I mean yeah it is your money to spend how you wish, but I think you set yourself up for disappointment with that mind set.

Minute Man 7212014d ago

To answer your question "No", but people want a Superman game

Spenok2014d ago (Edited 2014d ago )

My biggest question is why these IGNorant morons added "Batman" to the title...

L7CHAPEL2014d ago

I think it's so you have a reference point, as to the universe.
but I would have just gone with Gotham nights I think that would do it for most people.

I will defend this game till the day I die. It was different to anything else I'd played and it offered a very different story to anything I've played since. Little bits of repetition creeped in but i was thoroughly engrossed throughout.

JEECE3202d ago

Same. The Far Cry games since have improved in some areas, but have also become far more hand-holdy. 2 had a feel they've never quite recaptured, and unfortunately, no games seem to go for anymore.

Mikefizzled3202d ago

Yeah, it felt a little raw. For better and for worse. Static save locations, gun jamming/exploding, malaria and bloody aggressive drivers. Anything since feels a little easy.
