Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has incredibly damaging combos with no escape once you're locked in. And that's a good thing.

Arc System Works' CEO has said that BlazBlue is not done and the studio will touch it the in future to avoid competition with Guilty Gear now.
would love to see it celshaded like guiltygear/granblue etc. Just hope they don't ruin the combat mechanics

Kotaku: “Amingo was an original character introduced in Marvel vs. Capcom 2. He was part of a gentle race of plant people. He was good and he was my friend. Capcom killed Amingo in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and I will never forgive it.“
If they hadn't got rid of Amingo then Kotaku would instead be writing screeching articles about how Amingo is an example of cultural appropriation and racism.
And I fucking dare any of them to deny it.
An unpopular character from a game 20 years ago did not return for for a game that's almost a decade old except for a cameo and of course Kotaku got offended by this...

MvC2 is making a surprise return to Evo 2020 and the community is buzzing about it. Here's why this seminal fighter is one of the most important ever.
Excellent article and I have to add that there is some restraint from high tier players to not abuse the infinite combos and exploits.
I'm not sure if I like MVC3's increased damage or not. I'm mostly interested in working with top-tier characters (online that is), so...I guess only time will tell whether or not this balances the game.
As for playing with less-experienced friends, this game is a ton of mash-y fun. I've been playing the "Vs." series since before it was the "Vs." series. Marvel Super Heroes introduced the basic combo system, and the "Magic/Aerial Rave/whatever they are calling it now" combo system is more intuitive than ever. It's very easy to teach to noobs. I play and experiment with newer, weirdo characters like M.O.D.O.K. and Hsien-Ko while by friends kick my ass.
Then I go online and use advanced zoning tactics, X-Factor cancels, and triangle jumps. I win, I lose...it's also lot of fun for advanced players.
But yeah...the damage thing.... It's really interesting because I don't know if a character like Phoenix will turn out to be good or bad. She deals craploads of damage, but she can also be wiped of the screen in one combo.
