For a lot of PS3 shooter fans, this is the Big One. Killzone 3 may not have the mainstream awareness of Halo or Call of Duty, but for Sony, this is the flagship FPS title. It also has a lot to live up to, with its predecessor considerably upping the ante for the kind of visuals players expect on a console. Killzone 2 was, like of God of War III and Uncharted 2, the defacto showpiece for PS3 owners of what their black box could do when all cylinders were firing. Killzone 3 takes up that mantle once more with surprising ease.

As PlayStation celebrates its 30th anniversary, let's explore the best PlayStation games Sony has to offer.

The Amsterdam-based studio reflects on its humble beginnings, beloved franchises, and growth through the years.
Up there with the top tier in the industry. Love Guerrilla Games - Horizon Burning Shores is simply STUNNING.
32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III
Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.
I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.
Such a wonderful studio. They deserve all their success.
The Decima Engine is absolute 🔥 I'm just mad they have abandoned Killzone.
DSOGaming writes: "While Sony does not plan to release Killzone 3 on the PC, Yahfz shared a video that gives us a glimpse at what such a PC version could look like."
PC almost always ends up the best place to play games, even if it takes a while.
What would you rather play decades down the line? A game at a fixed resolution and frame, considering you have a working disc, and the hardware?
Or run it on an emulator that can update the experience all around, and let you use whatever control input you prefer?
If you insist on the former, it's really only for the sake of nostalgia.
The RPCS3 devs are doing great work. And Kami works nicely with it too it seems.
Very neat.
Best Game Ever
After playing it, I have to say Killzone 3 is a very good game. The single player is up and down story wise, due to some bad dialog, and a lot of jumping around from scene to scene. Overall the single player does reach a level of good, but the sad thing is the single player could have been and should have been great, if only they would have hired a professional screen writer. The budget for the game was high enough, and bringing in a screenwriter to write a good story or fixed and enhance what they already had would have made Killzone 3 a great game, because everything else is there especially multiplayer except for no online co-op campaign (ADD IT, and it's all good.).
I've played about 60 minutes of the campaign and I can already tell it's better than the previous game. It's a more ambitious campaign, more epic in set pieces and music. More human in the characters and the Helghast. It's like it's found its stride. Just like Uncharted blossomed in Uncharted 2, Killzone has blossomed in the third game. The controls are better, the game is more enjoyable to play, easier to pick up and play for people who are used to playing FPS like COD. It just gives off a better vibe than the previous game. And you can tell they've spent more money on it too, it's just got that big budget feel running through the whole thing like Uncharted 2 had
