Reports have a Mirror's Edge sequel in limbo. Here's why it deserves to be made.

Kaan writes: "Mirror's Edge will likely never get a third try. The second game does not look like a cheap effort. By all accounts it is beautiful, especially with its FPS Boost enhancements. The city glows at nights and shines in the day. Lights will reflect off of Catalyst’s many structures made of glass. It’s spectacular to run through. But such a lavish production often comes with risk aversion and sadly Catalyst crumbles under this pressure. It’s held back by the pressure to conform, rather than trying to be genuinely different."
The parkour was great. It was just the story and characters didn't get interesting until the final moments and then it was to late.
Digital Foundry: Microsoft's FPS Boost support expands again, this time with 120Hz upgrades for 12 games and a 60fps boost for one! We decided to check out the improvement to some of our favourite games in the line-up, including the three Battlefield games that are supported, Titanfall and Mirror's Edge Catalyst. Which consoles support which games, what's the performance really like and are there resolution compromises?
Microsoft is killing it. Meanwhile Sony only lets developers upgrade older games if they make a PS5 version. Which means, less games getting upgrades on Sony’s offering.
Man, that makes me want to reinstall the OG Titanfall... seeing people still playing it. Memories

Electronic Arts has just released twelve games on Valve's distribution service, Steam.
Will anyone buy it, though?
err, it's not in Limbo, it's canned outright.
The small team that lead designer at DICE had working on it, have been shifted to 'other work', leaving no doubt that EA have walked away completely from the franchise - sadly, as I believe it was one of the best, new, innovative game-styles delivered in the '00's'
If only more gamers had taken it on with gutso, perhaps EA might have followed through with it.
Far too many gamers blame publishers for not following through with franchises, when in fact, it has a HUGE amount to do with the fickledness of gamers.
The bagging the game copped initially was huge, simply because most gamers wanted a shooter, not a runner when timing, expertise and finesse was the crucial factor, not how big your gun was/is.
SO, when faced with poor overall sales figures over a year or more, would you decide to invest a further $US10million into a game that didn't initially bring that amount in?
It's sad, but I can understand why, but that doesn't stop me from wishing they had changed their mind, but also wishing some other publisher might take DICE's great title onboard?
It needs a sequel because I love it.
They just need to make a better history. The first one sucked. But the game was brilliant.
Heres a reason, cause it wasnt really a FPS, it was a neat original game, it had some shooting elements but you really never needed to shoot anyone. Too many shooters now, a sequel would have been nice. Just increase the length of the game and bam it will be amazing.
