Battle: Los Angeles game in development

The game of the movie is being developed as shown on the Australian classification website. It is MA 15+ which suggests it is very violent, however there is no "experience may change in online play" which suggests there might not be a multiplayer mode.
If any of you have seen the trailers for the film it looks promising and for the type of movie it seems like a game tie in would be good.

The movie looks a bit like crysis. In fact i remember earlier the director said the film is a bit like a game. i think this would be a good game, i just hope that if it doesn't have multiplayer its at least 40 hours long and is a bit open like crysis and isn't another rubbish tie in like so many before.

Itll b a rubbish tie, i hope im wrong

It's more like a "resistance" movie.

I hate the idea of a battle LA game. Only a AAA-developer could create an incredible alien invasion game. I mean, it's even hard for Crytek and Insomniac..

Find it kind of funny since Sony is using the movie to advertise Resistance 3 (remember the news on the billboard with the R3 logo on it during filming?) because of the similarities in concept. Now they're _also_ going to make a game based on the movie?

Seems to be overkill, IMHO. I'll just wait for R3.

Funny. Im going to watch a movie about an alien invasion in america, advertising a game about an alien invasion america, also said film is getting a video-game based on it, but will most likely suck in comparison to the game it is advertising in the movie.

Shit. I just Inception'd myself.

distorted_reality5583d ago

Is this the movie of the album?

So that would make the game the game of the movie of the album?

Guys, I'm all for alien invasion fiction. I'll probably rent this game. Its not like its going to be better than Resistance 3 lol

2011 for the win, because of all the amazing alien invasion fiction released. This year really is the year of alien invasion:

Battle Los Angeles (movie)

Monsters (movie)
The Darkest Hour (movie)
Gears of War 3 (Xbox360 game)
Resistance (PSP2 game)
Cloverfield 2 (movie)
Earth Defence Force: Armageddon (PS3 game)
Earth Defence Force (movie)
Apollo 18 (movie)
Crysis 2 (PS3 game)
Falling Skies (Tv series)

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing33d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9233d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit33d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing33d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9233d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
