I still have every console and game I have ever bought.

I can never understand this "trade in generation" You buy a game full price retail, then trade in for less and you lose the game just to do it again with the next one.

@Bear, Exactly, one of my buds got Dead Space 2 on day 1. Played it, beat it, and traded it in the next week. WTF? He could have just rented the game and saved his money!

I'm going to skip KZ3.

only room for battlefield 3 & Gt5 for the rest of the gen. This is based on BF2pc, which ruined most of my highschool career..

If it sucks, I dunno. KZ3 seems more of the same FPS we've been doing this gen. I like the vehicles in the bf series & the scale. Same with Crysis2. basic with a magic suit..

Destruction is just so where tech is at today. Its silly going from bad company, where you can't hide in a shack from heavy explosives, to these games where it feels like everything is made out of reinforced titanium.

Even a vietnamese straw and gum hut.

As long as you pace yourself with the fps genre. Meaning sticking with one game for a good while. The genre will never die.

This is not true on consoles. What happens is annual/bi-annual fps games come out on consoles and the tiny communities that exist no thanks to matchmaking are destroyed. Same argument with dlc.

Fps on consoles are just a fire and forget. Which is why you see people on N4g listing all the fps games they will be buying in one year. It's sad. Games like killzone, resistance and cod will no longer live up to their full potential even though I'm sure they will be good.

This year its only bf3 for me.

right lets get to the basics Battlefeild is much better you want to no why? because it is more realistic with its Frost Bite technology you can smash buildings through with grenades etc... unlike COD you cannot

never been a fan of super realism.
Battlefield is just more fun than COD.
I guarantee if you put cameras behind TVs of people playing games, the ones playing COD make occasional angry outbursts, and the Battlefield ones are smirking when they do something cool and generally having a good time.

lol to the fail troll below. I play me PC through my TV in the lounge and keep my lappy for the net. It look awesome to have games running in max settings in 60 inch 180hz glory. Only tards think that PC gamers are glued to desks/office chairs and play on tiny monitors.

Get rid of campaigns, move the game to mobile, and try to compete with warzone. They would save time and money.

Which is so ignorant it almost physically hurts.

They have the damn templates lol. Everyone LOVED Battlefield all the way up through BF4. Everything after BF4 is where fans started getting divided because they started dumbing down the gameplay.

So they need to go back to the favorites. Bad Company 2. BF3 and BF4.

Take those games. Take the exact same gameplay. Update the graphics. Add some different game modes. Make new maps. Add new guns. Choose two armies. And make a single player campaign.

That's seriously it. They need to quit trying to make BF something it isn't. They have everything they need. Why they can't figure this out just hurts my brain trying to understand.

BF3? They need to go back to BF2 for the mainline. Heck, I'd settle for true-to-source remakes of BF2 and BC2 (w/ Vietnam). Everything they've done in the 'modern' era is just bad.

I've not played 2042 myself but after v I don't feel like it. I played a few hours of v with friends but it feels ultra sterile I can't figure it out but the game looks and feels clinical. The storys in the campaign were also bland and uninteresting and felt like a dull trudge through checkpoints as you waited for an ending.

I've played the franchise dating back to it's original PC launch and PS2 spin off games I did enjoy 1 overall and it's take on placing you in different scenarios and battles was interesting but not all that good imo as you couldn't really connect with any characters longer than 2 hours.

hardline for all the hate it recived was a fun story and a new take but a bad mp game

I feel like v overall was the turning point and instead of showing the gritty reality of war they turned everything sterile and presented it in a clean cut boring frame in order to pump it full of weird micro transactions overall they spent far to much time on trying to implant ray tracing and other graphical flourishes and forgot to make the game enjoyable
