Bungie’s Destiny – An Update

Kotaku.au: "Yesterday we broke the story that, according to an anonymous source, Bungie was currently working on ‘Destiny’, an MMO with shooter elements. The source also claimed that he, along with roughly 30 other contractors were let go with little notice by Bungie – a claim that Bungie has denied. We’ve now been in contact with another verified source who has further elaborated on Bungie’s treatment of contractors and provided more details."

No suprise, Bungie does not do those kinds of things. Thats Crapovision and other money hogging agencies behavior.

Its funny how these things seem to happen with Crapovision yet when they were with the BIG bad M$ (at least thats wat the're labeld as on this site) These kinds of things never happened, M$ over crapovision anyday...I dont know what Bungie was thinking...

MintBerryCrunch5569d ago

if its an MMO, why are people making the connection to Activision....that is Blizzards MO...if anything Blizzard might help them and lead them in the right direction...i just fear that since its an MMO and it ends up being multiplat, we might see subscriptions for the game, similar to DC Universe

Washington-Capitals5569d ago

Is this the same bungie staff that worked on the halo games? I cant imagine how people in that company can be happy with corporate suits running up their assess telling them what to do.

One thing microsoft always did right was let Bungie do their own thing and never interfere.

crzyjackbauer5568d ago

half of the team who did Halo 3 are now in 343 ind.
the current Bungie staff is the one who did REACH
so there is still a lot of talent in Bungie

MS is a good publisher
another publisher would have asked bungie to make Halo4 instead of REACH
and they let Bioware do what ever they wanted with Mass Effect unlike EA wich made Mass Effect 2 more of a shooter than an RPG just to it can appeal to all the COD kids

I don't like M$ or Activision. They're both greedy companies who close down studios for no reason at all. However Activision is MUCH worse than M$.

With all of the recent lay-offs it wouldn't surprise me if Bungie was involved since they are now paid my Activision. They basically control Bungie now and if they wanted thirty guys to be let go, then thirty people would've been laid off.

I don't care much about the info on the game though. If it is an MMO, then there WILL be a subscription along with it. Actvision would be running the severs and they won't run them for free. Thus that means I have no interest in the game at all. I never really did though since I'm not going to give Activision another penny. It doesn't matter who made the game, Activision gets most the money from it and I'm not going to support them.

IMO Bungie joining Activsion was a VERY stupid decision on their part.

Thrillhouse5569d ago

I wish they signed on with Zenimax.

KingDustero5569d ago

I have never heard of them?

IMO EA would've been better.

Forbidden_Darkness5569d ago

Zenimax is the owner of such studios as Bethesda, id software, arkane studios and Tango Gameworks.

So, Zenimax would definitely have been a better choice, along with EA and Ubisoft (IMHO)

vishant1015569d ago

ea is as bad as ativision imo

KingDustero5568d ago

Ok I've never heard of them. I know about all the companies you listed, I just didn't know who owned them. I figured they were independent.

Anyways then true. Zenimax would've been a MUCH better choice than Activision.

I read that after KZ3 GG was going to make a new IP. According to concept art they showed it was going to be a sci-fi medieval first person game.

Bungie might be making an MMO, but GG sure isn't.

telekineticmantis5569d ago

concept art, please show me that. Cuz quotes like these obviously show they're making an MMO= "Guerrilla is looking for a Dumbledore amongst FX Artists – someone with the sage-like leadership abilities and clairvoyant organizational skills to drive a project’s vision, and inspire other FX wizards to achieve new heights. As our Lead FX Artist, you will be in charge of defining and delivering the visual and artistic effects for our games. You will set the example for all FX team apprentices, helping to continually raise the quality of every project within the studio."

CryWolf5569d ago

Why the hell would Bungie run with Activision haven't they seen what Activision did to Infinity Ward boss's they ran Call of duty series to almost nothing the same COD game over and over again with little improvements to the franchise, but still we buy Activision's games like hot cakes now Activision/Blizzard is going to shutdown Bungie studios when this shooter MMO doesn't live up to the hype.

DOMination5569d ago

It's not a big deal. Bubbie signed a ten year deal for this one particular ip. Hingis are otherwise still an indie studio

Its neat especially since not everyone might have two friends playing it. Makes it more personal to go at in duos.

It's 2026 and basic match making features in MP games are still being drip fed to an audience that still gets excited over said basic feature being implemented.

Almost 16,000 reviews on Steam currently has the game sitting on a very positive 90% Not sure if it has the player numbers but those who are playing seem to be enjoying themselves.

Putte70d ago

And as of now a 5.1 user score on metacritic. Really bad.

LiViNgLeGaCY70d ago

On Steam, you have to have bought the game, in order to play. On metacritic, ANYONE can review it. I'll leave it for you to decide which one matters more.

MrNinosan70d ago

Trolls on Metacritic, must be a new thing or you were born yesterday

The game is really really bad. So generic boring and lifeless. UI is terrible. Bad and slow gameplay. Not sure who gives the go ahead for these games. Insane all that money companies just throw away for no reason. Nobody a asking for these games

LiViNgLeGaCY70d ago

You haven't played it. That much is apparent from your comment. Gameplay is FAR from slow and boring. I do agree the UI definitely needs to be re-worked. But then again, you're just repeating a complaint you're reading about, not actually experiencing.

MrNinosan70d ago

Can you show any proof you've actually played it, by sharing your PSN ID or Steam profile? Nah, guessed as much.

Outside_ofthe_Box70d ago

Gunplay is the best thing about the game. To call it bad is wrong. Just because it isn't a twitch shooter doesn't mean it's slow, not everything has to play the same. Everything else is generic I agree.

Flenter70d ago

Yes I am. But tell me ,with goty games do you play? Have you even played Marathon? If not ...S T F U!!
So sick and tired of the hate BS 🤮🤮
