Activision Publishing, Inc. today has released the first trailer for TOP SHOT ARCADE, a new arcade-style shooting experience developed exclusively for Wii, will be available March 2011. The game comes equipped with the TOP SHOT ELITE peripheral that features pump action reload and an adjustable stock to fit players of all ages and sizes. TOP SHOT ARCADE is designed to be the ultimate party game with four person head-to-head shooting action.

A family-friendly arcade-style shooter that may please those with short attention spans, though true hunting fans will probably want to wait for the next Cabelas release. Full review by Herman Exum.

It seems that when it comes to wildlife shooter/hunting games, there are two main categories: Ruff-n-scruff serious hunting games (ie: Cabela's Dangerous Hunts) and the fairly casual see-animal-shoot-animal games (ie: Deer Drive). Activision's latest game, Top Shot Arcade qualifies as the latter of the two options even if it does come with a Cabelas-branded shotgun-ish Wii remote holder thingy (the Top Shot Elite).
There are less hunting games on the Wii than I would expect. You'd think the system would be awash in them, it certainly fits into their demographic.
I tend to play Big Buck Hunter when drunk at the bar. I suppose there's nothing that says I can get drunk at home and play this.

NfamousGamers.com - Hunting games go either one of two ways. Either you have the super-serious ones that put you in a Call of Duty-style situation, where it’s you against wild animals (see Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2011), and you have the arcade-style affairs where you simply shoot at animals for the fun of it (see Deer Drive and any given Big Buck Hunter arcade game). Top Shot Arcade falls in the latter category, an arcade-style fest with 75 different shooting galleries spread across 15 North American locations, which have you shooting everything from moose to deer.
